Hello everyone

This looks like a really great forum. Im not an official RAFwag yet as my husband only starts his training on 22nd July but im glad ive found this. We are literally just married (8th May) and counting down the days until he goes and ive been a bit teary & emotional to say the least. Im trying to be strong as i know he will have to put his all into training but i think i just need to talk to other wives & partners who are going through the same things just to give me an insight into what life is going to be like as an RAF wife.

Any advice would be much appreciated

Hi Janette welcome to WAGS and congratulations on getting married! :)

I'm Holly, my oh is based in germany and I havent seen him since beginning of april, got 12 days to go til we have a long weekend together so im very excited! It is an emotional time, but this site really really is a life saver. Advice I can give you is keep strong for you and your oh, remember when he goes away he will be missing you just as much you miss him. Keeping busy is an important one and give yourself time to do things for you. It is hard, no one will tell you it isnt but it is so worth the ups and downs. Its just a different way of life really and you will adapt. Time together will be precious but it makes it more special. I dont know much about the RAF but judging by the army, prepare to have dates changed etc etc at the last minute. A lot of people say they dont believe it will happen until it actually does with the army!

Good luck and any questions or worries no matter how silly you may think they are we are all here to support you!
You've got the best start you can with this site, everyone is so lovely!

Lots of love xxxxxxxx
