Hi Claire,

There are a few of us on here that live near Brize Norton it isn't such a bad place to be. Infact I love it, me and my oh live on the new housing estate in carterton but won't be long before we tie the knot and move to married quaters. Don't be put off my the look of the MQ housing i have been reassured that they are ok inside (correct me if i'm wrong?).

I am a bit of a country girl though and like that it is surrounded by fields, it might be a bit of a shock if you are coming from a city as there isn't much to do! Can't wait for them to finish the cinema in Witney (summer 2009) because the one near oxford is miles away.

Where are you moving from? what do you do for a living? Just general nosey questions!!

Don't worry it will all work out just fine :)

hi thanks everyone.

im going to be moving there hopefully in november. we are getting married november 1st so should move there around then. i cried when i saw the houses! they look terrible from the outside! i live in telford now trev (my man) is over in kandahar and im missing him like mad. his sister is also a RAF Wag and she nudged me to this site as she used to come on it when she was first starting out. they are based in wales though so i wont know anyone. im just scared i wont fit in my sister in law said it is hard to adjust and quite bitchy so its freaked me out a bit. keep having second thoughts about it all but i know its the only way i get to be with my man!

Try not to worry, it won't be as bad as you think. Things are always more scary when you are not really sure what to expect. I don't actually know any other RAF WAGs in person so can't comment on any bitchyness but you will find lots of friendly people on here.

General question to everyone...
If you live in MQ is there more of an interaction between RAF Wives or do people tend to keep themselves to themselves, like living on a normal housing estate where you hardly see your neighbours? Are there events when people get together? I really am very new to this myself i have been with my other half for coming up 2 years but haven't really tasted RAF life as although we live in carterton we aren't in quaters yet.

Hi honey, I am a RAF WAG too and you live just near me! I am based in Shrewsbury. Will be facing my OH getting posted to Benson in a few months time, but i am not going with him.

Alll i can say about the MQ's is that the ones in Shawbury are gorgeous inside, loads of space and massive gardens (have been over to one of my OH's friend MQ!)
