Hi all,
I'm not a girlfriend or a wife, but I have given my heart to a friend. He's not army, he's TA but he is doing a tour. (Don't know enough to know if you distinguish) And I don't live in the UK, I'm in Canada. But my friends think I'm crazy for waiting until he's done to see if there is a relationship here. And I still worry to no end about his safety.

I don't think you are foolish to wait, just romantic and there is nothing wrong with that at all!!
How long until he is home? My OH is in afghan at the moment and he is back in August for RnR.

Ahhhh thats so romantic. welcome to wags. They're a great bunch here. I wouldn't say you're crazy at all. If he's a friend then thats at least worth the wait.
Where's he on tour, my OH is in Iraq until december, I never stop worrying about him either! We all know what it's like so feel free to talk to us all about any worries you have I'm sure we'll all try to help one way or another x

Thanks guys! I never think of it as romantic, just stupid and crazy so the reframe is appreciated!! He's in Iraq now. I'm not sure for how long, the date he went was later than the original date, so he says sometime between September and Christmas. Rnr is in August, but I don't know if I will see him then.
I have known my friend for 20 years; we had lots of fun 20 years ago then he disappeared for 15 years. We reconnected through facebook and we touched base in March. He's not making any promises to me; he needs to make it through the next few months first. Then we'll spend time together to see if there is something there. I have loved the idea of him for 20 years, and I am enjoying learning about who he is now.
