Hi everyone! :D
I'm so glad ive found this website-it's brilliant! Me and my bf have been together nearly 4 years. He rejoined the army last friday after 'test-driving' 2 years back out on civvy street. It wasn't for him though and he decided to re-join with my love and understanding, and our strength to make it work like we did when we first got together. So, ive just got through my first weekend away from him once again. He's based in Gutersloh this time, which kinda has its advantages for me as Im doin a german degree at Uni and love visiting germany. Can't wait to go and visit him, I miss him terribly, and after moving in together when he came out the army a few years ago, I feel lonely all over again. Anyway, just thought I'd post a bit of relationship background and say hi to everyone. Can't wait to start chatting and im really excited bout gettin to know you!

Thanks, thats really kind of you. Its so nice to be able to talk to people that actually understand how you feel. My family and my bf's family are great and i love them all to bits, but they don't always understand the lonliness that I feel when he isn't around, they usually just make jokes that I should be glad of the freedom and time on my own where I can do whatever I want. I know Im only young, but truth is that i'd much rather curl up in front of the telly with my bf than go out partying with my uni mates every night, and now that i've moved out of my parent's house and lived with my bf for 2 years, this is the 1st time ive ever lived completely on my own so it's a huge change. Anyway, at least I manage to have contact with him daily, usually by text msg just to let me know hes ok, so i shouldn't dwell to much, but ive always got the prospect of afganistan in the back of my mind, which worries me alot. Hes been to iraq twice before but it doesn't stop me worrying. Ive just gota look forward to going to visit him in gutersloh-cant wait!

hi hun, welcome to wags, im Helen. my oh is in iraq at the mo, although he is usually based in germany, I know what you mean by him being away...it feels lonley, but this site is great, such a support and a good crack. x:D
Chesterfield not too far from me im in Conisbrough and work about 15mins from chesterfield! Im married but dont live on camp as we have our own home, hubbi is based down south so only get to see him at weekends!
yer my family r abit inconciderate when he goes i need to be left be for at least 2 days but there down my throut tellin me to do things after bout an hour an it really gets me an plus my mum gets really excited when he comes so i dont get him to myself but we got iraq next year so its really annoyeing how my family behave towards me an my bf but oh well but andysz family r great i talk to his sisteralot on msn an if iam feeling down she tottaly understands but she happy coz when he goes out to iraq if he does that is she got me to help her to write to him coz when i went to meet them she said she ahrdly wrote she didnt know what to say or what to do so i gave her a few tips lol an its all gud but yer i should hopefully bne going to collage soon an haveing digs coz its a few hours away so then it will really hit hoem out being lonly lol but when my friends ask me about what is like dateing a guy in the army an i tell them its like being singal an u cant get sum1 out of your thoughts but in realitly you relly have this stunning guy in uniform who cant help but be away lol

My friend used to be based in Gutersloh with the RLC.....lol although he's back in this country now so it's not really relevant....

Thanks for your warm welcome and friendly hello! My bf's dream was to try for the royal marines, but after being in the army before, he thought it would be best if he just rejoined and went back in as a driver-doing what he already knows was the incentive i think! One of his best friends is going through training to become a marine, and i think that deep-down thats what he'd really love to do, and he has an enormous amount of respect for them. Hopefully, everything will work out well for him back with logistics. Thanks again for your reply and keep in touch,

Not sure where Conisbrough is, sorry. Im hoping the my bf will be posted somewhere in england in the next year or two. It wud be great to see him every weekend!

Thanks for your reply. Where is your oh usually based in Germany? We all miss our blokes and feel lonely without them, but this site has definately put a big smile on my face today, knowing that Ive got so many great people to chat to in the same situation as me-It's a godsend!

He is usually in fally!!! but we are hoping he will get a uk posting next year, when he is back from iraq!!!! would be great to have him in this country. i will probs move to be with him then... woo hoo!!! x

Thanks for sending me a welcome msg! I absolutely LOVE the site, I cant believe ive never realised it existed before now. Last time my oh was in the army, I missed him so much and I found it so hard to cope, and felt so lonely. If i'd known about this site then it would have helped me tremendously, just to be able to chat to girls in the same situation as me, with the same worries and problems. It really is a godsend! He only went back last friday (friday 13th!!) but i' missing him loads already. He hasn't been to Afgan yet, but hes done 3 tours in iraq. I'm praying he doesn't have to go anywhere like then again but I know that in reality that won't happen.
