What im trying to say is I think I need someone to talk to who knows what im going through.................... Can anyone help me and maybe put a smile back on my face?????

hi hun welcome to wags!
my OH has been in the army for nearly 4 years now, but has never been on tour.
It's lovely watching them do their pass out parade and makes u feel so proud of them! it will be abit tough to ot see him and especially wen they have to go away on tour, it does make u scared. But now u have found a fab webite to talk to other girls and ask questions, it really helps the situation.
Wat trade is he doing in there? x
Hi Hun, Im Helen. My oh is in Iraq at the moment. Dont stress your self out, with thinking about him going at the moment. Enjoy him being home and deal with things when they come. Im not going to lie and say its easy, but you do get in to a rountine, letters, eblueys. I make sure i send a parcel on the same day each week, thats a mini countdown in its self.
We are all here to talk, the girls on here are great. xx
Just watch...... it becomes addictive xx:rolleyes:
Hello...
I'm Kat, my OH is training in the RAF, so i am in the same boat as you. He is about to finish his training and about to get his first posting. I'd agree with hellybear, try not to think about it, try to enjoy the fact that he is home at the moment and enjoy every moment together.
The times apart are tough but they make the times together even more special. And the best advice i was given was to keep busy, i focus on work, my friends, my family and the girls here. Try to maintain your own independance so that when he does have to go, you have a routine to get into which will make it easier.
So... welcome to WAGS... Enjoy !! xxx
God that was quick girls I didn’t think I would get replies so soon, thank you very much for your messages. :) :)
I have some questions, what is OH and RnR, Eblueys????
I must sounds really dumb sorry...... :D
I will indeed focus on the time that he is in this country, i think i get to see him every Saturday for 5 hours so its not all bad.
He is in the Royal Engineers, he is going to be a helicopter mechanic.

rnr is rest and recoupperation, they come home for a few weeks leave in between tour.
im not sure about eblueys as i have never done one, and OH means ur Other Half!!
Blueys are the letters you get to send out to them without postage... e blueys are the same thing but you go on a webite and type them there, they are then printed out at his end and given to him.. can be quicker but many of the men prefer hand written blueys....
Hi hun welcome to wags!!
Im michelle been with my hubbi 7years he has been to Afghan 3times since we have been together so if you have any questions just PM me, try not to think about it as its along way in the future X

Hi lovely Welcome to Wags!
I'm Stacey and am 21 also (22 in aug :() my oh is a Sergeant in the REME and is an aircraft engineer (I call it being a glorified mechanic)- the same as ur oh. He has been in for 10 years and this is our first tour as a couple (we;ve been together 1 year).
First things first: Easier said than done but try not to focus on the tour too much, I know its hard and I didn't quite manage it myself but you really just have to try and enjoy all the time you spend together and make lots of memories to get you through the times when he is away. Where will your oh be based when he gets his posting? Mine is based at Larkhill when he's here lol.
While he is away it takes a few weeks to get into a routine, but the best thing to do is try an get into one as sson as you can, start a chuff chart, do a countdown, send lots of blueys, eblueys and parcels, like Helly I send one parcel a week on the same day. 1 letter a week and 2 eblueys a day.
You do have your down days and it is hard but when they come home it is so worth it (so i'm told lol).
There's a member Jodie who's oh has just had his long weekend and passes out on 8th aug, if u ever catch her online, she'd be a good person to talk to.
Also, as I said my oh is in Afghan for the moment and it seems as if your man's job is the same as mine, with any luck he will just be based at camp his whole 6 months. My oh is based at Camp Bastion and doesn't need to leave the camp unless he needs to go and bring back a broken aircraft (touch wood he hasnt had 2 yet), so for what its worth it may not be as bad as you think.
Cross each bridge as you come to it, don't look too far ahead, and just make the most of each other every chance you get.
If you have any questions, or just wanna chat don't hesitate to PM me.

hey hun, welcome to wags! congrats on the engagment!
My Oh is in Afghan at the minute, we been together over 3 years but this is our first tour in the sand, but he is usually based in Sunny Cyrpus. Try not to think about him going to Afghan as it is a long way off and you will soon learn that the army like to change their minds about things like this esp the dates! so he might not go for a while after you think he is!
It is hard, esp when you have had them back for a weekend but you learn to readjust and get back into a rountine.

Hello
First of all welcome to the site hun, I am a newbie too. My hubby is also a helicopter tech, in Wattisham suffolk. He also passed out at Pirbright, then did his basic electronics at Arborfield, Reading, for what seemed like forever, he was then posted here to Wattisham, and was not put on a tour for about a yr after this, so i would not worry about it hun. We are all here to cheer you up and offer you advice when you need it x x:)
