Heya,
im so glad somewhere like this exsists. At the moment i am as the name suggests an RLC fiance. recently as of last two days ive been crying at work (inc unlike me) over the O/H going off on his first tour to Afghan.
Normally ive been copeing fine. ive had to take a couple of shifts off work - which is so stupid. I think im finding it difficult now as it is less than two weeks untill i see him on his pre-tour leave, and the BIG goodbye is getting closer and a lot more real. My work is very understanding - but i just cant seem to pin point my feelings as noone i know is in the same boat.
Ive read some of the forum - and it sounds like there is a lot of time and support dedicated to everyone here - which is something i may have lacked. It is so wonderful to see.

Welcome to Wags!! My OH left for his first Afghan tour in march and god did i cry.. non stop some weekends. So you aren't alone, I didnt sleep very well and would have aweful worries go through my head... but hey look now its July and my OH is soon home for RnR. There have been a few dodgy moments ( like this last week) when he has been one moody little git, but that seems to have passed and we are working towards our RnR in August. I know its scary and you probably are dreading it ( as I was) but you can do it and you are strong enough to cope and the girls here will really help you through the ups and downs.
It isn't an easy job but if you love your man you will make it work.

HI hun, Im Helen welcome to wags. My oh left for iraq in May, I thought my world hand ended!!! I cried all the time, i had the worst head ache from all the crying!!! To be honest the whole build up to him leaving was the worst, after he had been away a few weeks (and me feeling sorry for myself), i got my self in to a routine!! it has helped. I could then start the countdown to him coming home..... |I miss him soooo much, but look at my countdown dates below, i cant believe it July....it does go down!!!!

Hi, I know its crap now but everyone on here is really supportive and it might not feel like it now but it does get easier. Just spending time with him before he leaves and try not to think about it and then after just throw yourself into a routine or try taking something up to keep you occupied and it goes quicker than you'd think. Welcome to the site. xxx
