hi ive just found this site my boyfriends a mechanic in the army and will be soon going to gutersloh. weve been together now for just over a month we had been together 6 years before a 9 mnth split as it was hard for us to adjust to him being away. weve got back together now and he wants me to move to germany does anyone know where i could find sites where i could find places to rent over there or even jobs. i think this site is fab and sure has cheered me up as i miss him dearly all the time. i dont get soem of the slang tho like oh. you all seem great people and i look forward to chatting with everyone xxxx

Im quite new too. OH is other half - took me ages to work that out, I had to ask the girls.
My OH is leaving monday for phase 1 basic in Bassingbourn. Wants to do reme.

I cant really help with ya questions as Im not living with my OH/abroard etc but the other girls should be able to:) !
thank you wat does your oh want to do in the reme my oh was in bassingbourn its not too bad there. itll be hard bcause for the first few months hes not aloowed back on weekends or allowed the bar i think it is bcause they are new recruits how are you finding it all?god it seems s clear now im laffin at myself but some slang is hard. good luck

hey im new on here to,joined begining of wk,my partner is rejoining so once training is done we will be of to germany,but going to sennelager.have u put where ur going into web?might find something there or i think there is few girls on here thats liing out there so they might be able to help,are u looking forward to going?me and my parnter are getting married so army will provide housing for us,that not just y were getting married lol just bn brought forward so we and the kids can be togetherx

Hey Hun, welcome to WAGS.
Gutersloh is a really great little place, my OH is based out there (when he's not in the desert!!) I've been to visit and the camp is lovely and the town has a lot of shops, bars and restaurants (Mendosa's argentinian steak house is amazing!) As I dont live out there I'm not sure what the situation regarding renting property or getting a job would be but I'm sure there will be recruitment agencies here that could help you find work out there? Do you speak German? If not you might be best to try and get a job on camp or at the Nafi or something because I did find it quite difficult to communicate. Although most of the German people speak a little English they didn't seem fluent so that could pose a problem? Good luck though, sounds like the start of an adventure for you :)

hi hun welcome to wags. my oh is also based in gutersloh and i agree its a lovely place. ive been there a few times (mostly spent it in his room making up for lost time lol) , i agree with HQ, it'll probably be best to find a job on camp unless you speak german. not sure about finding a place though? xx

me and oh are having a bit of a bad time atm but i hopez it sorts out i love him loads and we were together from the age of 11 and have always been best m8s aswell as acouple

The girls on this site were amazing when my other half was in Iraq so welcome..
I wish I could give you loadz of advise but I was kinda in the same situation and really didn't know where to start.. I was planning to move to Munster to be with my Guy and then everything changed..

awww thanks laura im waiting to finish coll then go with my o/h coz if hes over there he can look for places and stuff and i can go visit b4 i move. i cnt wait to go itll be nice to have a place of our own.
Ah it will chick.. I was going to move but I found it so hard to get a job.. But your other half will be able to find somewhere for you to live.. How exciting!!
ye im quite excited i know theres alot of airbus factorys in germany but theres not one near where im going otherwise i could of worked there but ill find something you ever considered a internet job? and i kno you can get benefits over there like you get here because of the e.u theres funding for kids too called kindergelt.
