Hi girls, my boyfriend of 3 years has recently joined up to the RAF. I havent a clue how you all cope... i feel like he is abandoning me. He says he wants a proper career and to be able to support me and future children etc... i feel heart broken but wont show it to him because i know he wants to do it and its his dream. I just feel like... will we split...will i ever see him if we do stay together?
Just some guidence i think i need really. I feel so bad for moaning already and he hasnt even gone yet to start training. Please someone sort me out HAHA. Thanks and by the way i have read some posts and you are all so strong. hopefully i will be too xx:D

Firstly Welcome to wags!!

You have definately come to the right place to moan!! I got together with my fiance after basic so i have never experienced it myself, but it is widely known that its one of the toughest times! My OH lives in Germany so im used to not being with him very much but i still probably see him more than what i wouls if he was in basic!
It's quite a lot of guys dreams to do this and if you stand in their way then it will only put pressure on your relationship! Absece makes the heart fonder and when you get to the other side of basic you will truly understand this. Also just keep thinking of him in his uniform when he's finished!!
You need to give him support to do this and in turn we will give you all the support you need!!
