View Full Version : I'm new... and a bit sad :(
Hi all, i'm new, though i'd try this as my bloke has just gone over (one of the last ones) to iraq... and to begin with i thought it was ages, but now its even worse because he's not getting his RnR... so now theres nothing to look forward to!
Its not even been two weeks and its alredy dragging!! how do you do it??!! hoping to find people who are going through the same!! xxxx
Hi Bethylou....
Welcome to WAGS,.... this place will defintely get your through!! the girls will all tell you routine is the best way forward.. that and getting on here with a glass of wine to chat to the girls ...
You'll be fine, you've come to the best place for support ! xxx

im hoping for an early return but who knows... whres the best place to go chat xxx
Welcome to wags hun, Kat's right, best place to be is here, you can pass the time away to your hearts content :) xxx
thanks :) btw i love your signature line tagline or whatever it is!! xx
Hi hun, welcome to wags. my oh went out to iraq last year and it was his for tour since we got together so i can kinda relate to how ur feeling. luckily for me his tours over now he was back in January and i was lucky his tour got cut short coz he got a new posting which he had to do a course for so they kindly send him back to do his course (dont think that happens much at all). that sucks about no rnr, but just think, you're counting down til when you get to see him and he wont have to go back out to iraq!!
i found sending loads of eblueys and parcels really helped me through. he had his bday and xmas over there so i was kept really busy trying to find nice little things to send him. oh and all the girls on here are the best help you can get to help you through anything, sometimes i dont know what i'd do without the support of these ladies. xxx
Welcome to wags Beth,
Hopefully all of us can make you feel a bit better, i know where you're coming from though, my oh went on his first tour in Feb last year and I didnt see him until aug! He went for 7months without rnr so was difficult but the girls on here along with sending letters and parcels really helped me to get to the end, seeing him once it was all over was worth it, we had missed each other so much that no time was taken for granted :)
If you ever need a chat we're all here, chin up hun.
xxx
Welcome hunni :D
Bless ya well were all here for you and dont feel that you cant rant on cos we all do it to get it off our chests!!!!
Were always here to chat to hun!
Look forward to chatting to you xxxx
thanks everyone.. im finding it hardest at night... and i think the worst bit is the facade which is where this place comes in helpful - NONE understands, everyones like, its only 4 months blah blah... so you just act fine with everyone, so ppl dont think your struggling...
i'm sending him a bluey a day and blueys too... what sorta things were you sending in parcels? ive sent him mosi repellant!! but he keeps saying he doesnt want anything!! sad songs and funny tv shows are my friends right now!! xxxxx
i made up a thread a while back for parcel ideas http://www.armywags.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14706&highlight=whats+your+parcel
hope that helps xxx
Hey hun,
Welcome to Wags.
My OH was in Falklands Sept - Jan and is off to Afghan Sept and even though its tough I survived and most of the reason is down to the girls here.
At the beginning I counted up the days to see how I was doing and rewarded myself every 10 days I did with a treat - lunch out or a new pair of earrings that sort of thing.
I wouldn't say it gets easier but you do find yourself getting used to things - just come on here and get involved.
xx
and that treat thingy every so many days is a good idea.. little things to look forward to so hopefully you dont notice them going by so much!! when the days get to below 100 i'll be estatic!! xx
