Seeing as we're ex wags now...would you still go out with a soldier or have you been put off the forces lifestyle?

Personally I wouldn't go out with someone in the forces again...after Matthew I dont think i'd put myself through it all again.

To be honest I can just picture myself meeting a lovely guy, good looking, attentive, we go out for a perfect first date, and then I ask what he does, and he replies "I'm in the army"... I would most definitely run away as fast as I could!!! xxx

I know it was hard being with an army guy but alot of my exs have been civvies and most broke up because we spent too much time together and got bored of each other. I found the army gave the relationship a passion. You was always waiting to see each other and when you did you had missed each other so much that you loved every minute together. Does no body remember the way you felt when you knew they were coming home in one piece and the way it felt when they wrapped their arms round you for the first time in 6 months??? I know remembering this could be painful memories for some people but not all forces men will hurt us we just picked the wrong ones. Id not go out my way to date a forces guy but its not something im going to avoid xxx

I've thought about this loads lol. I'd say he'd have to be something pretty special for me to get involved with him if he were in the forces - but then by the same token he'd have to be something pretty special for me to get involved with him if he were a civvy.

The navy relationship wasn't easy but the primary reasons I finished it were his womanising, alcoholism and selfishness and that could happen to anyone. I knew him before he went in though and the navy did change him, and wouldn't have said for the better. But the problem wasn't necessarily the navy so much as him.

ummm im not sure, at the time i wouldnt think anything about not seeing him for a few weeks and i think i coped with the afghan tour well.........but im not sure that i want to put myself through it all again, guess it would depend on the fella and how much i like him! wouldnt completely rule it out!

I think I will just have fun with boys in uniform, but not date them for a while. I don't think I'd mind someone at the end of his military career, but not at the beginning. I'm too old for that.

Im with you on this one he would have to be pretty special but if I did met some-one who I liked an he turned out to be forces then I think I would just see how it goes
