Hi, im new to this site and a new army Fiance, I'm finding it all really hard to cope with my Fiancee being in the army. Ive tried other support sites for amry wife/girlfriends but everyone there seemed to already have bonded and i just felt like an outsider.
few things about me:
Im kate, im 21 and im studying youth and community work in leeds. My fiancee is based in Salisbury but may be moving to colchester, i only get to see him at weekends.
Im into all sorts of music, and love going out with my friends =D

Im 24 my OH is in the Marines and he currently on exercise. Is your the OH going to join the para's? They're based in Colchester i think...

Thanks girls! My OH is a corporal in the signals.... Hes been away to Iraq while we were together and came back in Jan - finds out this month where he will be going next
I thiink its bulford camp (hes not answering his phone but im sure thats whats on his address)

Well his home is in london when hes not at camp so goes to london to see his parentals about once a month then comes up to me in leeds the other weekends................Only been there once for a event thing with him
do you have your own place? its nice that he sees his parents but bet you wish he'd just come to you :o

Right this is the complicated part...how i met my OH
My parents live in wales and Mattew was based in NI, but used to come and do some work with the police down on fishguard dock, he met my friend and invited her for a drink but she wouldnt go to meet him without me (this was three yrs ago) so we met up with him and his mate and i hit it off with Matthew straight away, but kept my distance becuase of my friend, so they had a little thing (but didnt do anything apart from kiss), and everytime he came to fishguard he would meet her and ask for me to come along to... nothing came of them and i moved to leeds but kept in contact with him, then he was moved to salisbury and we realised we liked each other alot, and decided to get together two weeks before her went to iraq! Been together a year next month! Lol still confuses me

Yeah it was horrible having him them having to let him go for 6 months - was even more horrible when found out he had been trying to get back with his for the past few months! but we got over that and now are really happy!
My friends keep saying to me that i shouldt marry into the army as "if the army wanted their soldiers to have wives they would issue them"
Its haaaaaard when they have their guys round every night!
NEVER GO WITH AN EMMERDALE GUY. they are always out in leeds and they LOVE themsleves, i used to work in a club they used to come into. scott windsor PRI*K everyone hates him- he came onto my flat mate last year luckily she said no
it is hard hun but if he's your man then you will get thro it,,look at us all on her we have great days and poo days but we get eachother thro it;)

Yes some soap dude tried it on he still does infact he is my friends ex's friend and always asks after me but im not interested, He's left emerdale now anyway. I think part of the attraction with me was the fact that I said no but all the other girls were flocking around him ..... loser

I tell you what I met chris moyles a few weeks ago at the ralleyoke thing he did for comic relief, he said I was pretty in a hollyoaks kind of way :eek:

He sounded really hopeful when he asked me and needy. He's having a crap time at the moment he's fed up. He said will you marry me (there goes my tummy again) and said he wanted to leave asap

Yeh handed his notice in in march then was due to leve next march. when he signed off i told him not to as he would regret it and i didnt want to get used to the idea of a normal life with hijm but he convinced me he wanted to leave. then last week realised he wasnt ready to leave.... now we r going though a tough time as i feel really let down.. and angry...i know i shouldnt be but..
To be honest Kate I feel worried about my oh leaving, I need to be sure that he is doing it for the right reasons and not just me because im worried he will resent me.
I would hate bein messed about though, you need to know whats going on in his head. He's probably scared to come out hun. Im speaking for my oh here but he is so institutionalised (here comes my sociology degree he he) that he probably would find it hard to settle down. He could never get a 9 - 5 job.
He needs some career advise, can the army put him on any courses??

He was going to join the police but his boss was like oh god no its worse than here blah blah blah... he wants to stay in untill hes 30 which is another 7 years.
weve spoke about it and he really wants to stay
I understand how you feel, just make sure of his reasons for leaving like you said, make sure its not becuase of one bad day (like matt) becuase it will set you up for disapointment if he stay in

We've spoke about it before and we've always planned to move away I wasnt expecting it so quickley.
I said to him just on the phone we'll talk about it properly... im not getting my heart broken a second time kate learned my lesson the last time nwith my ex :o cheating b@stard
He's going to get some quali's then leave .... hopefully

My man Rob is in Afghan same as Jens..due back in July for R&R but coming out of the Army in 18 months as he would have done his 22yrs...phew thankgod I tell you...def weight off my mind.....I dont blame any of the lads for signing off as there gonna be living away on tours especially with Afghan kicking off and possibly Iran in the future.....

he was due to leave next march but has signed back on :confused: he wants to stay for another 7 years.... i'm not that happy about it but will support him etc.

hi, my name is jodie. my husband is joining the army in 4 wks time! im a bit nervous about what is going to happen- and how long im not gonna see him! he's joining as driver in the RLC, so he should have finished all his training by about november. we have 2 children bethany 8 and bradley 2, and im really looking forward to the big change! (being an army wag!) haha! does any1 know how soon after my husband has finished his training, that he will get posted to his chosen unit and if we will move with him straight away? xx
