im sure il get a wide range of answers here but anyway! :p
and bear with me......
oh will be wearing his number 1s for the wedding, which is good coz i want red bridesmaids n roses BUT what colour do we choose for the non-military groomsmen?
he's not decided who will be his best man yet - stuck between 2, 1 is army, 1 isnt. and im stuck for ideas either way.....(if you have a problem with things bein symetrical like i do, then you'll understand haha!)
1.
if he chooses pete (army) then raf wants him to be in number 1s too, which i agree with.
he then has 2 ushers and my dad to dress (no dad on his side) again 1 of these is army and the other isnt. id want these 3 all dressed the same, but have no idea wot colour!
2.
if he chooses stu (not army) then obv he wont be in uniform! the 2 ushers would then both be army and then my dad. i dont want to introduce another colour by putting ushers in number 2s but also dont want raf to be in uniform by himself, if that makes sense!

any ideas appreciated!

also (main reason for thread haha!) do we have black/grey/navy outfits for the groomsmen??

wot did you girls do if you had the same sort of problem?!

wow long thread but needed to explain :p

Hi, just asking. Do you not want the groomsmen and bridesmaids to match? do you just want a colour that compliments the red?

my oh wore his mess dress for our wedding. the colour i think are simular to the number 1's whereas his numbers 2's are green. so i'd say just stick to those colours maybe?? for the non military people, maybe black suits white shirt with red tie and button holes??? i stuck to the red theme to match oh's uniform. but maybe gold too coz i think that'd go??? sorry if i'm not much help lol xxx

Hi hun

We are having red theme too. Uniform is dark navy so we are getting best man, ushers etc to wear navy suits. So many different shades of red!!! xxx

If his army mate is his best man do you want him in the same uniform as raf? It'll mean raf doesnt stand out then.

Think you will just have to wait to see who he chooses then go from there, the joys of planning a wedding ey?

Oh my god i feel kinda lucky my oh doesnt want to wear his uniform when we get married. He says if he worked in a supermarket his wouldnt get married in that uniform and this is just a job. I told him how proud he should be and how proud i am. But being honest the red in it wouldnt go with my theme lol. Not that I am getting married lol

My theme was Ivory, Burgandy & Navy
Hubby wore No'1s
Bridesmaids & flowers were burgandy (which matched hubbys beret)
Best man & ushers were in No'2s
Dads were in dark blue edwardian suits.
I think it worked quite well
anyway if you fancy a look... some of my photo's are on A1fotograffix.com (my stepdads the photographer - big plug there lol!) if you go to the weddings gallary and click on ronnie & dawn - the password is reme.

im trying to persuade my oh to wear his numbers one as they would lift the mood of winter and he looks so smart and gorgous in them, and then plus he wants to get married as soon as he gets back so it kinda makes sense to wear them time wise. but at the moment thats a big battle lol, i've found a bridesmaid dress that will compliment his no1 and found flowers that will be a darker red with some burgandy they are going to be lillies as they are my favourite flower but i guess we have to wait and see.
i dont think i will have a theme as such but i want to make the atmosphere warm as its going to be a winter wedding likely.

Possibly a daft question, but do they have to wear no1's? Or any kind of uniform at all?

Only, lovely and dashing as OH looks in his no1, he looks even nicer in a plain suit - and I'm not sure I want a particularly military-looking wedding.

He doesn't care either way, haha.
