Well, I think Mel's just about covered it! I always put photos in too...of whatever you want them to be of :p xx
then in 2 airmail bags i send,
omg i cant believe what an idiot i was!!! I never even thought of using airmail bags, always boxes. you would not believe the trouble i had trying to get things that would fit into the shape of a box..... grrrrrrrrrr!!!!:o
hey
didnt think of airmail bags, was getting all stressed with sizes of boxes etc..lol
how big are these bags..will they fit like a multipack 6 pack of crisps, sweets and a few bits and pieces...xx
hey,
can we put like pepperami in a package or are they funny with meat..lol random question i no but i no he loves them..xxx
Hmmm, well, sometimes they scan the packages (to make sure nothing dangerous is in them) and sometimes they dont. I believe it's soldiers that scan them, not civvies.
Basically, I'd risk it...should be ok...if in doubt, ask the Welfare Officer or Hive rep. :D
what are airmail packs? dont the care packages have to weigh a certain amount?? im so nes to all this what cant you send??x
The limit is 2kilos including packaging. I think if u search for previous threads there is a link to the official website of what CANT be sent....... or at least a list of things the girls have learnt not to pack
if ur sending edibles stuff just make sure it wont go off as it can take quite a while to reach them!!
I always sent boxes as I thought it would stop what I sent from getting too squashed, but I guess if you use bubble wrap a bag should be fine! If you do use a box, a shoe box is a good size to hold 2kg. Just make sure to weigh it on the kitchen scales before you send it.
As to contents, the only think my boy ever actually asked for was home-made cake! I didn't think a sponge would survive the journey without falling to bits or drying out so I sent brownies and fruitcake. I think anything quite moist would get there without drying out - I used to send it in those cheap tupperware boxes from sainsburys that were about 60p each, then if he didn't bring them home it wouldn't matter (he did though, bless him). Anyway he loved the cake and brownies and would share them with his mates - instant popularity and my reputation in KAF was tip-top!
