View Full Version : I Just Dont Know How I Will Cope
Hi Girls, I have introduced myself on here before but to be honest I find the layout of the site a little confusing. I reckon thats becasue I am not very bright at the moment!!
I am married to Mark, have been for 6 years, been with him for 16 years. he has been in the Army all this time. He is an Artificer in REME with 2nd Btn Royal Welsh. He has done tours before, but none since we have been married.
We have a 2 year old son, and Im having a little girl in 2 weeks, then Mark deploys to Afghan for 6 months at the end of August. Thing is that although I have known about this for months I just CANT get my head around it, I feel so scared, lonely and anxious. I just dont want him to go and really dont know how I will cope. I cry all the time which is rubbish as my son doesnt need to see it, nor does Mark. Do any of you have any tips/experience in dealing with your OH being away with 1 small child and a new born.
I have great friends and family will help when they can but I just feel lonely, I dont live on camp so no one to talk to who really undestands:(
Hello hon and welcome to WAGs!
I'm afraid I don't know what it's like to be in your position exactly, but there are lots of lovely wonderful ladies on this site who have been through it all, and more! If you tell us where you're from there's bound to be other girls in your area as well.
Feel free to post questions about anything, or if you just want a chat!
Look forward to getting to know you

HIya, thanks for the welcome. I live in Gatwick. I know there are bases around here, but dont know anyone in the area
hey hun welcome to wags! im not far from gatwick, im in epsom which is about 30 mins away.
my OH has never done a tour but was in canada for 4 months. i have 2 kids and it was a struggle at first and i did get bad anxiety. but u do learn ways of coping and u can adapt to it. the key is to get lots of support and to keep urself busy. i suppose with the new baby coming along its a worrying time for u as well, and the thought of him going away is daunting. but it will be ok and as long as u set urself goals for each week, u will get through it xx
Hi hun,
Not trying to freak you out!! but I think we have met!!!!! I have read your last couple of posts & have hopefully put 2 and 2 together correctly!?!
Did your hubby finish his tiffy course at Bordon last September??
If so... I am Dawn... johno's wife!! i think the first time we met was at the first summer ball in our pirate attire, the xmas ball & then again at the scrolling.
Im sorry you are having such a bad time at the moment and feeling so low. Nothing will make better them going away, but the time will go quickly 'honest' & it sounds like you will have your hands full once your little girl arrives. Take it one day at a time hun & remember there is always a mountain of support from the girls on here.
Im always available if you ever want a chat, I cant advise on being left at home with children as we are yet to start our family, but I can advise on hubby away on tour.
I have sent you a private message in case you dont get this & I really do hope you are the person I think you are lol.
Take care & I wish you all the best...
Dxx
Welcome to Wags!
Congratulations on baby number 2 :)
We'll do our best to answer your questions and help you through his tour :)

Hiya hun, welcome to wags xxxx
It's easier to navigate around if you hit new posts at the top when you log on. Then you don't have to wade through everything.
I can't help with surviving a tour with young kids, but I can help with surviving a tour, and I'm really good at filling time and space so you aren't sitting with anxiety.
Hugs
