army weddings

Did those who are married have the whole military wedding? With your man in uniform etc? If so what did you oh wear? His number 1s or 2s? What theme did you guys have? Did you go as far as to have an Army cake topper?

we didnt have a proper army wedding but my oh wore his mess dress and looked amazing. i'm not keen on number 2's for weddings, they're more for funerals i imagine. but no's are nice. when i'm home i'll post a piccy on here of hubbi on our wedding da in his mess dress!!

we didnt have anything else army really except in my dads speech, he said "to those who are yet to find a man i have some advice, dont choose a salesman, all he'll want to do it talk about it, dont choose a gynochologist all he'll want to do is look at it, choose a man from the army who knows how to use a gun!!!" haha went down very well with hubbi ;) xxx

we are having a army wedding, oh is in his no.1s, so is his best man and guard of honors.and they are gonna do the whole arching swords as i walk down the aile. his auntie is making our cake and we have asked for a bride and soldier on the top hehe :D

I had an army wedding last year & loved it - oh wore his no1's during the service and then his mess dress in the evening. His best man & guard of honour were in 2's. Cut the cake with sword etc which was weird as its way long lol. Theme was ivory, navy & burgandy.

Aww both your dresses are gorg. I just go all gooey at weddings lol. Have any of your oh's not wanted to wear uniform? See my oh doesnt really want to. He tells me its just a job and if say he worked at Adsa he wouldnt wear his Asda uniform. Which I guess is a fair point (kinda). I want him to wer his uniform. Only thing is, I want pinks and well its a known fact you dont mix pink with red.

haha i've got a funny story about pink!!! my oh lent his shirt for his mess dress to a mate and his mate was on leave when ben came back from germany for the wedding so he brought a bloody pink shirt with him to wear. i told him no way was i gonna let him wear a pink shirt with his mess dress. so my dad went out and bought him a shirt. lol wot a disaster that would have been.

my oh wanted to wear his, he loves his mess dress. i thought it made it a bit more special but its everyones personal preference. xxx
