View Full Version : hi everyone. newbie here looking for abit of advice.
hi all, im emma im 23 and new to all this my parter of 3 years (john) has just been accepted in the army and sworn his oath and has been told there is no space for him to start training until march 2010!! im really really pleased for him and glad ive got a few months left before he's off!!
i just wondered about livin on army bases?? we are engaged and getting married sometime next year (no date yet) and once hes completed his training how do we then go about living together wherever he gets posted?? what are the houses like? can we decorate them ourselves? weve also got a 2 year old daughter and wondered about schooling etc??
sorry to bombard you with all these questions ive got so much going round in my head at the moment. Lol but im very excited at becoming an army wag :D look forward to speaking to you all very very soon.
much love xx
hey welcome to wags,
i could not help u at all with any of those quetsions..lol im a navy wag and my partner was already trained..but just wanted to say hi and to welcome ya...enjoy the site its a godsend.xx
Hey Hunni!!
Welcome to the mad house! :D What reg is your OH going into???
With regards to the housing once he gets his posting order, you'll be able to apply for a quarter then. OH will get be able to get a form that you fill in and send off.
Housing can be Hit or miss, some are good, some are ok, and others are down right poor. But on a good note, when your only paying £60 a month rent for a 2 bed, it sort of puts a better spin on it. You can decorate them, but they have to be left as you found them when you march out, so depending on what you wanna do, is wether its worth it or not. There neutral anyway Magnolia, so will you can accentuate with colour, using pics and ornaments rugs etc. Which is what i do. Patches normally have primary schools in a close vicinity, but until you know where your posted theres not much research you can do xxx
hey hunni welcome to wags
Dont stress too much about everything, deal with one thing at a time, some of which you can't deal with right now anyway you'll have to wait to get postings and stuff and a lot of it is down to the army (with an occasional nudge in the right direction from you when they get slow)
get to know us all and we'll try our best to help ya through whatever.
i understand your concerns about your daughter and stuff i've just been sorting through ofsted reports for my daughter to start school next september, and i got real stressed about it, just try n keep calm.
PM me if you need anything
