So OH and I were talking last night and we've agreed on the 18th june 2011 :) its a saturday, kinda in the middle of the month and im hoping its gonna be nice weather lol. Was talking to my mum last night and said to her i really want a summer wedding and she was like sounds good...then i went "so when is summer in england" lol i mean u never know with this country!! :p whatever date we pick its probably gonna rain anyway
So now all we've got to do is discuss budget with my dad and then find a venue. OH has got his heart set on a place, and i LOVE it but...OH say he wants to go all out on the day and make it extra special, but because i have a huge family the number of ppl attending is now at 105, and with the best package at this place (which include 3 course dinner with cheese and fruit after, 3 glasses of champagne for every person, unlimited pimms and orange juice, accomadation of OH and I and for both sets of parents, preferencial accomidation rate for all guests, exclusive use of the entire estate, reception goes on till 1 o'clock, the day after we get our own room to hold breakfast for all the guests, loads of canapes, rooms for changing in (guys will be in uniform so really useful) and a cake stand and knife.) we'd be spending £21000. :o
I want to still look at other venues tho so may find something cheaper but this place ticked all the boxes.
Might have to grovell to daddy lol
Question is now, when can i start doing the exciting things? like dress shopping hehe I went to have a mooch round one shop yesturday and saw nothing i liked! also looked online and cant find anything, OH's worried i might be so picky it'll take 2 years to find my dress lol . Anyway wanted to write that all out on here as im keeping things secret for ppl on facebook right now

Congratulations, it is so exciting when you finally have the date! I don't think it is ever too early to start getting things sorted. I have had all my wedding invitations made for 7 months and I still haven't sent them out yet, our wedding isn't for another 6 months!

I think they usually say start looking for the dress 1 year before but if you are likely to be fussy with a dress then I would start now, I don't think you can do it too early. It also means that you spread the cost.

Happy wedding planning :)

wooohooo thats great news hunni, congrats!!!!!

i'd defo say a green light for the dress hunting. i looked for a few months, but had fallen in love with the first one that i went back to try on 4 times lol. i knew it was the one when nothing compared to it!!!

sounds like u've got everything under control. if you can afford that amount (or ur dad should i say) lol go for it. i did my whole wedding for about half of that and i found it easy enough to plan. it depends on what you want and how much you have to spend xxx

wow i must say im impressed your moving very quickly, i've been engaged 8 months (gosh thats flown) and i haven't even set a date or got any further than planning and ideas so im impressed with your organisation hun.

the venue sounds fab hun.

go with the dress shopping now, give yourself plenty of time you dont wanna have to settle for something your not entirely happy with just cos you run out of time at the end.

Good luck with the rest of the planning
