Wittering??..... What's it like?

Hi all!

Hope everyone is well!!

I joined this site a few months ago whilst my h2b was still in basic training. He joined the navy as an Aircraft engineer and he's now half way through his phase 2 training. We're getting married in April 2010 and once he's completed his phase 2 training we'll be moving into married quarters. As squadron leader he gets 1st choice when it comes to where he wants to be posted. He decided last night that he wants to work on the Harriers at RAF Wittering and I was wondering if anyone on here is currently or has previously been posted there?? It would be really good if anyone could tell me what its like there?

im currently at wittering as my hubsands is in the raf regiment, its our first quarter togeva and i rele like it here. theres not alot to do if u dont drive (i cant lol) but the social scene is very good :)

It's really reassuring for me to hear from someone who actually lives there and says its nice! I also do drive so I suppose that will be a bonus!
How long is your posting at Wittering then?

Wittering is 40 mins down the road from me and I have lots of friends on the base. Its a good base as is close to Stamford and Peterborough so plenty to do. Its also right on the A1 so easy to get to lots of places too x
