What are people doing for their big day? I am looking into getting someone to come and do them for me on the morning of the wedding. Any idea what is a good price?

I had my hair cut today at Tony and Guy and they gave me a price list for hair and it was £100 for a trial and £150 on the day just for me, i think that is stupidly expensive.

There is a place local to me that will do makeup for £55 including a trial which is good i think, i haven't been into the place so not sure what it is like. I don't want to go somewhere too cheap but don't want to be ripped off either!

Any advice?

My wedding was organised in 3 weeks, so you'll be able to do a lot better than this, BUT, it was cheap, and usually I hate how I look and I fink I looked quite nice on my wedding day :) Add me on FB if you want to, have a nosey heehee!!

For my hair, I had my usual hairdresser do it. They did varying levels of 'up do' and she charged me £15, but I bunged her a tenner for getting to work for 8.30 on my big day (hairdressers is 2 min drive from my house). SHe also charged me a tenner on top of my usual haircut for a practise.

For my make up, me and my bestie went to YSL in Meadowhall and the lady does a free make over, we told her it was for the wedding! SHe did all my make up and my best friend made notes and watched and then recreated it on the day. Had to buy all the make up which came to about £160, but it was such lush make up and lasted for yonks and yonks! Still have eye-liner/mascara/eyeshadow etc. Plus I think a bought a couple of extra random things like brushes that I didn't have, but you could probs get cheaper/already have.

That's just what I did, and it worked well, so another option for you hun :)

Thanks, I will have a look for some local hairdressers and get some quotes. I was going to do it all myself but might just splash out to reduce the stress on the day!

i did my own make up on the day. i went out and got special make up and brushes for it and i watched the tips on video jug.

my hair dresser put some fake eyelashes on for me too, they looked so lovely.

she also did my hair extensions and styled it for me and i was sooo pleased. She charged me £70 i think but she came to my home. xxx
