View Full Version : Receptions
Hey ladies,
Hope you all well, just had a quick question about receptions
Oh and I are having a small wedding with 26 guests at the actual ceremony but want to have a larger sit down meal and reception with extended family and friends there. So just wondering if anyone else has done this?
I know its slightly unusal and was wondering if anyone had any advise on timings about how long there should be between ceremony and meal etc.
Thanks in advance
I think we will end up doing something like this - my friend who got married a few years ago did the same, there were about 40 of us at the ceremony but while the photos were being taken about 50 other people turned up for the reception meal and evening do!
You just need to have 2 kinds of invitation I guess - one for the whole day and one for evening only...

I am only having 30 for day and an aditional 20 or so at night. I am doing two seperate invites. I think its far more personal having just the people that really matter there. How are you doing tables? I am having an open square to its less formal and fills a room better. Just a little advise if you want it :)
Yes I was thinking either of having a open square as you say or one long table for the bridal party and the lots of small circular tables to seat 4 or 5 around each! I am meeting with the rep from where I hope to have the reception tomorrow and hopefully they will be able to advise me on table lay outs - there will prob be 50 - 60 at the reception so will have to see what the area is like when i go - only seen piccies so far!

Oooo I bet youre excited. I was advised that 4 or 5 wouldnt be that socialable and everyone would stay in there clicks too much. But I was going to just have me my oh and Amelie on the "top" table but once speaking to my venue the open square looks much better for us. It all depends of the size of the room for the guests. Good luck xx
