i know its early & bonfire night isnt even out the way yet, but when do you put your trimmings up?
it's just OH is all excited (he's worse than the kids!!-lol :rolleyes:) and he's asked when we can put the dec's up!
i told him the 1st weekend in december is early enough :D :p

LOL - I am thinking ohh god how am I ging to put a Christmas tree up with a littleone that like to pull everything off I think this year I might just be putting things on the windows and hanging stuff from the ceiling may get one of those smal fiboroctic (sp?) christmas trees this year :D I am getting all excited already
I'm superstitious and always put them up 12 days before (or as near as) I'd like some new ones this year too! :D x x x
Ours always go up 12 days before as well - though I'm not going to decorate my place as a. It's tiny and there's not enough space for a tree! and b. I'll be really sad decorating alone :(
Always go to my mum and dad's for a weekend of tree-buying and decorating before Xmas and that's a LOT more festive!

don't really have a set date for when mine go up, but feeling really festive this year for the first time in 5 years :D so they'll be up once we get moved and i've unpacked and actually found the decs! Have no idea where I stored them when we moved into this house in January! so for me it'll be the end of the 1st week of December :D xx
I didn't bother with decorations last year, I was such a bah humbug (but I didn't know my OH back then), BUT this year will be sooooooooo different lol!!! Am going to go to town, live on a 3rd floor apartment, and have a lovely french door area to the balcony, so going to put a nice big tree there with all the trimmings.....can't wait!!!
And yes, we've always done the 12 days before rule, so will probably do the same :D
i think we'll put ours up at the beginning of december. we're excited this year so will b putting them up fairly early. we need to buy one though as we've never had our own one before x

just got them out the loft & started putting the outside ones up & im putting the tree up 2moro.im sooooooo excited this year.
OH is home & lyla has a real understanding of it this time.
she has even told me what she wants santa to bring her- bless!!!! :D
saw my fav crimbo advert last night too.....its not the same till the coca-cola ad is on the telly!

Absolutely heartbroken now though, this is the first year my daughter has realised father xmas isnt real. I know she's 10 now so it's not bad going these days but I'm gutted :(

She was a d bit sceptical bout it last year but managed to convince her lol. I think its lovely to keep it going for as long as poss!
The trouble is now she does know she wants to shout it at the top of her voice every 5 seconds that he doesnt exist.....little minx!!!
I do keep trying to explain to her that its magical to be able to believe so dont spoil it for other children xxxx
oh bless her. my little sis didnt find out till she was 11!!!! lol. but she's a nightmare and told my other little sis grrrrr. but my dad managed to tell the littler one that my sis was making it up and he does exist so she still beleives- we think lol.
it is nice to believe, i dont remember finding out he wasnt real but i actually said to hubbi last night that i really wished he was real, he just called me a wierdo!!! xxx

haha men ay. i really would love it if he was real. imagine the money we'd save on pressies lol. also it'd be nice to get a stocking full of pressies off santa and also the flying raindeers how cool would that be. xxx
