Well I went to design my own ring today and look at diamonds. I went to the same guy my soon to be bro in law went he got a bargain a sparkly 0.5 carat for £500. Well I went to him hoping I would get a bargain too. The ring that I have designed and want so bad comes in at £350 over my budget and oh cant budge on it with the wedding to pay for. I a totally gutted and so sad. I want to 0.5 carat like my sister but because I want princess cut and not brilliant I have to pay so much more. Grrrr :mad: I dont want to just get a ring that I dont like.

what was your budget dear? could you try and do something with him (i mean the man) and pay installments? so you can have the ring you want but pay gradually or wudnt that work either? xxxx

no :( Well it was £1500 but with wedding costs going up its now £1000. Grr just wish wedding costs could go down so we would have that extra £350. The man told me the only way I will get cost down is to go smaller diamond.

Hey hun that sucks, tho I think the bloke may be trying to get more out of u :s I would go to a different store and tell them exactly what u want. I'd say go for a lower grade diamond, D is the highest and so would cost more but also go for something that has small flaws in it, mines VS2 and that means it has small flaws in. The jewellers will know what u mean when u say that lol. I'm suprised he said u couldn't have anything princess cut without it costing loads. Definately ask around :)xx
