Any of you girls doing something nice for your away ohs for valentines? I sent him a card with my last parcel thinking we'd do something nice when he's home instead, but he claims I've got a surprise on the way :D Excited! I'm now trying to think of something I can send out to him, even if it arrives late now, but he has a tendency to leave things he's been sent on the ship lol so don't wanna splash out too much yet!

Hey fellow Welshie lol. I'm hoping to meet my OH half way in bristol one day next weekend (it's our anniversary on the 12th as well) and we might go look at engagement rings :) my present isn't v adventurous lol, I've bought him some pregnancy books for blokes lol coz he said he was feeling 'detached' from it all so hopefully he'll have a better idea of what is going on with me lol xxx

Haha hello! Ahh that's a lush way to spend it, I'm hoping I get some nice fancy jewelry from Dubai :) The books are a really good idea! I think I might start looking into hotels and book us a weekend away for when he's home, as he's missed Christmas, New Years and Valentines day for the second year running!

Hi Girls
I'm sending my OH's box tomorrow morning. It only takes 4 days to get there usually, so he will get it in time.
I have spent quite some time decorating his shoe box, I don't know about you girls.. but I always send every parcel in a shoe box as I find it far easier to send stuff in them. The local shoe shop kindly save me there left over boxes and I collect them!!
So I put hearts all over the outside of the box, then I covered the lid in red tissue paper and stuck photos of us all over the lid!!! I then tied it up with sparlkly string!! Then wrapped it up in the boring brown paper.
Inside I gave him chocolates, a teddy , US dollars to spend in the shop and some special running socks ( which he wants)
So all in all, I think he will be chuffed to bits. I doubt I will get anything as OH doens't even remember one day to the next, he doesn't even realise when its a weekend when he is out there!!
I love decorating his boxes though!!!

Ahh yes I use shoeboxes, I didn't think of decorating it this time though :( What an idiot!
I sent him his usual box of teabags, letters and sweets but bought some special valentines chocolates too, a card, photos (all he asked for when I mentioned it was bluetac to stick things on his cabin wall lol). I'm just fed up of waiting for the day to actually come now as he's promised a special surprise being delivered which is so unlike him, he's the most disorganised person ever with stuff like this, and for some reason he sent me my valentines day card in january lol, so it's just been sitting round waiting to be opened! :D

We had our valentines day today becuse he won't be home next sunday due to exercise :( booooo!!

Anyways, its been lovely. The card was like a mini essay :) and he's bought me a charm for my bracelet that he bought for me xmas. I love it, its 3 little keys that stand for "love, hope and faith" apparently :) So i'm feeling very smitten again right now :)

i LOVE valentines day!
i have a red box full of heart confetti and love hearts sweets. i got him a card, DKNY deordrant, a monkey with very cool spiky hair lol with a valentine t-shirt, a t-shirt he saw and liked in town, cuff links and a bracelet.
i think its the first occasion in a while where he hasnt guessed at least one gift lol so its all surprises.
oh says he has something special planned for me that is also something for us to do together. all he has said is that i will love it so i am very excited for that!

i kinda have the hump about valentines. i mentioned it to hubbi on saturday and he said 'i dont do valentines, so dont bother getting anything'. i was like WHAT!! i know we've not celebrated it before but i thought that was just because he wasnt here. he thinks it a waste of money etc. more like he just cant be bothered.

anyway i said 'well too late, your pressies are under there' and pointed to under my bedside table. He pulled it out and opened it (coz i told him to) and now feels really bad coz he hasnt got me anything. I told him not to bother. but i'd gone through the effort of getting him some and managed to hide it from him so i'm quite disappointed. anyway enough of my rambling. i wont be doing anything for valentines this year of any other by the looks of it :( although you never know, if he feels that bad he may suprise me (not getting my hopes up though) x

Show him that Valentines day doesn't have to be about money and gifts! maybe handmake him a card, or do something that costs nothing like a poem or go for a lovely long walk somewhere beautiful. Or maybe tell him how you feel and explain that you'd like to mark the day in some way, whether it costs money or not :o

thanks, lol i actually told him to write me a poem, and do you know what he said 'pow...right in the kisser' lol. thats his new little phrase that winds me up. he rarely does the whole romantic thing. i think when we went to Spain and when he proposed were really the only times i've seen him romantic, oh and when we first met. oh well, maybe i'll keep hinting and one day he'll suprise me. xx

Ahh I wish I sent him something now, everyone seems to have made a real effort! All he asked me to send him was blue tac and photos though so he can decorate his cabin lol. I'm quite excited/nervous about my 'surprise' too- his idea of a gift before he left was promising to teach me how to play pool 'like a man'!!! :\ But then he sent me a bottle of chanel no 5 after he heard me tell my mother I was running low :D so I'm expecting either some chanel sunglasses, or a teach yourself pub games book hahahaha :) Men are hopeless.
Hope everyone's plans go alright :D
