Colours scheme & themes for your big days?
Trying to be happy & positive
Ours is Black and White colour scheme and a Cinderella/Princess theme as you can all tell from my posts and pictures hehe

well we had red and white :D it went soo well with his mess dress. i love weddings, i wish i could do it all over again. it was the most amazing day of my life.
i'd highly recommend you get a videographer or someone to film it. hubbi went mad at me for booking one but now agrees it was the best money we spent. its soo nice putting the dvd on and watching our special day over again :D xx
We have chosen lemon for the bridesmaids and the flowers are going to be pink roses and sunflowers (sunflowers always make me smile!)
We decided not to go with a particular theme although my dress is very cinderella like!

Well if any ladies are getting married I have a brand new (handmade) tiara and flower clips they are beautiful, they were for my wedding that should have taken place 6 years ago. They are silver with lilac and clear crystals there are head bands for the little ones and 4 med sized flower heads on clips for older bridemaids and some crystals on clips...
They are in imacualte condition and just sat under my bed in there special box...

We get married 10th July hun was meant to be Dec 2011 but with all the problems im having and tour coming up we just though F**k it we're planning on doing it anyway so why wait
Im going with the Black & White cos my OH is black and white (NUFC) daft!! but i have told him i need my girly touch so im having my cinderella style and now its all coming together it looks very pretty :)

Good for you making sure you get all ur girly touches in! My OH has been brill and let me have everything I want - he said we're only gonna do it once so might as well go all out! I'm even having a horse and carriage (been a dream of mine since i was a little girl!!)

Going to have the men (apart from o/h as he's in his uniform) in black tails, pinstripe trousers and silver cravats. I'm struggling with table centrepeices at the moment, have no idea what to have or what will go with the theme, any suggestions appreciated! x

Aww yeah we are having silver accents, we have gone with Crystal sugar swizzle sticks for our favours cheap but cheerful and useable too :D
Im struggling for centre pieces too ive thought about glass fish bowls with water in and glass cubes in the bottom with floating candles (if the venue permits them) if not fish bowls filled with the glass cubes and battery operated fairy lights

We paid £750 for a horse and carriage and a 7 seater mercedes limo for the bridesmaid. For the horse and carriage alone it would have cost £650 so we thought for an extra £100 it was worth getting the limo.
Yes, the nerves really are starting to kick in! I feel like ive got so much to do, but not sure what! If that makes any sense at all!
Just so excited for the big day to arrive ...... i will finally be able to relax after 10 months of planning!

Wow!!, that is a bargain!, ive been quoted £500 for one of the 2 companys up here that do horse and carriages but its only a 2 seater cos their bigger one is already on hire that day :(
Not discussed it yet but i am hoping we do go for MQ's xx
Oooh Kelly yours sounds a bit like mine! We are getting married 2nd April next year and having lemon/yellow bridesmaid dresses!! Our theme is proper spring like, want spring flowers and crisp white and yellow. We are having mini eggs in our favours! lol

What a good idea! We've decided on love heart sweets - not very imaginative i know, but they didn't cost too much and I really wasn't keen on spending a fortune on favours!

aww thank you :) i wanna do it all again now. i wish they had brides balls or something where we could get dressed up in our wedding dresses again lol, i just love it.

not even thought about flowers for the church yet, going to approach the local college as they do floristry and see f they want to do our wedding as a project and we will then make a donation to the college
we dont really have a theme! i said i just want a nice ceremony and then to have a lot of fun in the evening.... althou i am sure i will 1. cry 2. spill something gastly on my dress!
as ours is AUgust i wanted to keep it quite seasonal so we are having yellow and baby blue :)

I got married in October when i (foolishly) married my sons Dad 5 years ago and it was a Cream, Gold & Orange colours with Orange Gerbera's
Im soooooooooooooo looking forward to my Princess wedding though :D
I'm having my flowers done by our local College :D my bouquet, 10 buttonholes, 2 cosarges, a wand and 2 mothers bouquets £136.50 real white roses with crystals in for my bouquet

Mine is in August. The colours are deep purple and ivory and there is going to be a subtle Titanic theme running throughout....hopefully lol. Such as the evening invites are going to be done in the syle of the Titanic's boarding passes :)
And i'm walking up the isle to the Piano Theme from the film

My OH doesnt get the whole favour thing though, when I mentioned them to him he said 'we have to buy things for the guests? Aren't they supposed to buy us presents'! :rolleyes::)

I begrudge spending a fortune on fancy useless favours (personally i think almonds are expensive too!) especially when 9/10 they dont get taken away and they dont get used and just collect dust.
So i found the Crystal sugar sticks for 22.99 on a site called www.nextdaycoffee.co.uk, you get 100 white unwrapped and im going to give 2 to each lady wrapped in a nice cellophane wrap tied off with a ribbon and a white gift tags saying thank you
Its cheap and easy to do and gives it that bit extra unusual cinderella touch :D

I wanted Navy white and Gold! cos it would have looked fab with OH's No1's but he wanted black and white and to be honest i was just glad he gave an input its his day too so i didnt want to push him away by saying no lol.

Oh helped me choose the colour scheme and yep snap it was to go with his number ones :D He's got a folder on his laptop titled "wedding" and has put ideas for venues and stuff he likes he's planning longer than I have :), stuff he thinks we'd both like etc in there. Except I'm not allowed to look now as it also has things to do with my engagement ring, wedding ring etc- so I'm banned from his laptop lol :D but I think that's sweet hehe

We'll be having a red theme as we're getting married in december, not sure what other colours, but we're going to have a subtle christmassy theme with ivy, candles that kind of thing. red goes with his blues as well! We can't book anything until he's passed out in july and we know what's going on, so not thought too much bowt it but gonna have crackers lol xxx
I have no idea what our colour scheme will be - I like the idea of using his reg's battle honour which is red and yellow in the wedding, which will be fine as it's going to be summer and will be nice and bright. But if he's not bothered then I want two-tone purple and ivory :)

That sounds lovely, I haven't had a chance to think about it all properly yet want to pick the venue first to get an idea, red just seems the obvious right now lol, but that sounds lovely. where r u having the ceremony and reception? have you booked yet?
its all going to be at Seaham hall. Its all booked!!!!!!!!!!!
red was the obvious choice for me too but we not doing a full day we dont get married till 4pm so its gonna be dark and the whole place will be candlelit so i thought the colours would be perfect.
