Hi girls,

Ok, so we're having our wedding in stirling (not my birth town but have a lot of family there and i felt a bit wierd getting married in glasvegas), and we have been chatting about what to have the best man and groomsmen in on the day. obv oh is wearing his uniform during the day, but we thought we would have the groomsmen in kilts and would get oh one to change in to as well.

we were hoping to have them all in ferguson tartan (my family name) but it is much harder than i thought trying to get 6 ferguson tartans for hire. all the shops seem to carry some generic ones (namely flower of scotland, old stewart, and blackwatch) so i thought perhaps we could get them all those to wear, prob blackwatch cos it is similar colours to old ferguson.

however will that look tacky or do you think anyone will take offence if they are wearing non-family kilts???? we have basically decided on kilts so pretty stuck on what else they could wear if we dont get them them!

Hey hun, i knowat our wedding DS is going to be wearing the macrae tartan....it was between that (my mums family) or the flower of scotlanmd, but mcrae would go better with our colour scheme too.

Anyway i dont think anyone will take offence, a kilt is a way of showing how proud people are to be scottish :) and it doesnt need to be your own tartan to be able to say that.

I feel your pain! We wanted the Dunbar tartan but it's not available for hire in every shop we've tried so we've had to go for a totally different tartan. It's not perfect but at least we have got everyone matching and it looks good!
