Heya hunnie and welcome to wags. Sorry cant answer your questions as hubby not been on tour yet..xxx
Welcome 2 wags hun! Ive not been thru a tour but we all know about separation! The girls here are a godsend and will be there at every turn! Welcome 2 the wacky, weird and wonderfull world of wagdom!! Its a hard ride but i wouldnt change it 4 the world xxx
hello and welcome :)
Can you tell us abit about yourself? and what does ur OH do and reg?
I havent done a tour with OH yet, but it does depend what his job is depending on how often you can talk to him! some girls get contact every day others every few days and then a few weeks all depends :)

Welcome welcome, come on in! I know it's really hard, but try not to start worrying now about September now - make the most of the time you have together! My boyfriend is on his first tour at the minute, but I've been pleasantly surprised about how quick it's gone! How much you get to talk to them depends on what job they're doing and where they're based, but you quickly get into what I've been calling the 'tour routine'!
hiya chick welcome!!!
OH is on his 1st tour now,I'm suprised in the contact we have had.he's been there Nearly a month now and the contact has been gr8 nearly everyday... Were having our ups and downs but I hope that's just a phase.xxx
Hi natalie, welcome!:) my oh hasn't been on tour yet,but he is away most of the time,I'm lucky if I see him once a month sometimes!u will be fine,u will adapt to the situation and eachother being in the situation.uv got lots of support on here too,so don't be afraid to talk.its all about being a strong person, and there's plenty of us on here to show u the way!:)
Take care

Hi Natalie, Welcome to wags
I'm an RAF wag and my oh is in afghan on our first tour at the moment... hes on the base all the time and has his laptop with him. He gets wifi in his room and has an hour limit per day so usually we talk on skype or msn.. Also they get phone cards called paradigm cards.. These get 30mins a week free which doesnt go very far but you can top them up. Quite often all the lines go down so there's no way of contact this occurs during big missions or if a soldier has passed away.. longest ive had no contact is 5 days but i know people who have experienced longer.. If your oh is going to be in the field then from girls on my camp i know they sometimes only get to speak with their oh once a week... it just varies hun on what job they are doing and what facilities they have... Don't start worrying about it yet though, enjoy the time you have together and concentrate on making your relationship as strong as poss if you havent been together long as tours take their toll on u both..
hope that helps

my boyfriend is in the royal engineers in tidworth and I live in hampshire, Im 20, hes 19... I work full time and just about to move outta my parents into a flat with a friend :)
Im just really worried that I wont be able to talk to him alot, Ive heard around that its like once every 3 weeks or something, and I wouldnt wanna miss his calls or something!
I think I'll be making lots of visits here for all your support, a lot of my friends just dismiss it...
we're both worried about it, he thinks I wont be there (ofc I will be!!!) and Im worried that I'll fall outta love with him or the worst happens (I bear thinking of my future without him there with me)

Well, can they take that kinda thing with them?! Im sorry I really dont know how it works, cus Im told nothing haha!! :) x
Hi hun welcome to wags, cant say you dont worry about it but the best thing is to keep busy by doing things with your mates or even making parcels for your oh while he's out there. contact will vary it depends on where they are based and what is happening. Your oh is give 20 minutes free a week but they get given a phone card ask your oh to give you his phone card number so you can put money on his phone account while out there that way they can call more often and speak longer.
hugs hun if you get stuck all us wags are here to help
