View Full Version : This has probably been mentioned in previous threads but...
...just wondering if you ladies could give me ideas on what various items cost for your weddings. I know it will vary on area, numbers etc but just trying to get an idea as need to know how much we need to save and at the moment am clueless!
Got an idea on food costs and venue, but its things like flowers, photographers, suit hire etc.
Thanks xx

hi hun how you diddling....
well it depends really on the wedding, time of year, and where its going to be?
are you likely to get married down that way or up this way near Whitchurch, as you know im having a local wedding here and i have all the local contact details.... if you fancy?
Our est budget for the wedding is about 10k but that includes my engagement ring and we are coming in under budget as i have shopped around so much and got loads from ebay!!!!!
Our wedding is estimated at about 90-100 guests and its a church wedding with a reception at a small motel/ pub down the road in their function suite.

Hey hun, I just spent ages writing a long reply and then it logged me out!
Well I was going to say...yes it will be up your way, just easier for both sets of families and friends. Will be a civil ceremony with reception at same place. Thinking 1st weekend of November next year, but really depends on what cost is likely to be as depending on this may need to put it back to Feb/March the following year to give a bit more time to save.
I did see a place I liked look of on net (Soulton Hall, Nr Wem) but after we had a quick count of numbers its going to be too small (our numbers approx 120 for day and up to 140ish for night). Also, like the look of Albright Hussey, Nr Shrewsbury. This caters for up to 180-200 also looks more appealing in terms of cost compared to the other place too. The 3 course plus coffee is £32.50ish pp, reception drinks £3pp, toast champagne £6pp. To hire the room for ceremony £285. (You can get exclusive use for £1500 but just don't see the point in that expense as the wedding area apparently has its own entrance/bar/toilets etc.)
Ive done a rough calculation of £8-9k in total. This doesn't include dress as think my Dad will buy this and OH is buying engagement ring separately. My Nan makes wedding cakes anyway so hoping she will make ours and a friend is photographer so getting that cheaper, so that cuts it down a bit.
I just think I may have underestimated on things such as flowers/evening entertainment & food/suit hire/favours - didn't have a clue so just put random figures in for these things! Also not sure if ive missed anything out.
Yes, would be grateful for your contacts please. Also, do you know if there are any good websites that have a checklist type thing or something?
