Hi Anna,

I'm an armywag...girlfriend.

My boyfriend has been in the army for about 2years. I'm finding things quite tough at the moment -he's on his first tour of duty in Iraq and has been gone for almost 2months, still too many more to go... I'm finding myself wishing my life away waiting for his return!!!!!!!!! :(

Lol, i guess i sound like loadsa fun!!! I came across this site as i've been thinking a lot recently about what being an army wife involves, it seems quite scary to me and even though he's been in the army 2years I've had very limited contact with that side of his life! I work full time and so when he's in this country we only see each other at weekends (army commitment dependant of course!).

Sorry you are finding things so tough at the moment and I hope we can help to get you through it and hopefully make you smile along the way! I don't know if I can say that the seperation gets easier or not. In some ways it does because it becomes an every day part of your life but the tough ones are always when it is 'Active' Duty!! I understand your comment about wishing your life away just so they can come home. I think most of us here on this board have been there at one time or another and it is totally understandable. Being a Wag Girlfriend definately has to be tough as you don't have the support of other wives around you, the families office etc and that was one of the reasons I wanted to set this site up - so that we can all give each other support and help.:)

What regiment is your boyfriend with? How did you meet? Please post some questions you'r like answered and I'm sure we will all try our best to answer them.

The site is still pretty new but we are getting new members all the time and as it grows I just know we are going to have some fun! It's great to meet you and get posting and tell us all about yourself!
