well i am currently wearing a silver band because one of the diamonds fell out of my engagement ring! I was so upset but its in the workshop being repaired and thank god i had insurance. Gutting though :( anyone else had this problem? one of the girls at work had the same thing and apparently she was told its the antiseptic soap we wash with in theatre??? x

Should you be wearing rings when you're in theatre?

I doubt soap would turn loose a diamond in your ring, it's a possibility that one of the facets wasnt flush against the side of the diamond therefore with daily wear and tear, the diamond has come loose. It's particularly common in cluster rings so i wouldnt worry. Just make sure that when you get your ring back, you check every diamond is tight against the metal, if there is any gaps, get it checked to avoid this happening again!!

Aww Francesca that sucks!!! I had the same ring, mine just has one large stone and I was walking through a shopping centre in Basildon and noticd it was gone, than the lord I found the stone a few meters away on the floor by som miracle!

Mine came out because the clasps that hold the stone in kept carching on the inside of my work trousers!

Bloody work eh? Too dangerous for our precious rings, we should stop working. lol.

what a nightmare about then ring, i know with our jeweller they have said they have guaranteed the ring for 10 years, and they take it back in every year to get the fixings checked!

although mine is making it a nightmare getting a wedding band :(

hey hun the same thing has happened to a girl I work with, and they made her a whole new ring! But I have heard its common with diamonds that are clasped.

But I wouldnt say it would be from your work, they are supposed to be made to last forever and you havent had it all that long!!!

yeah i shouldn't be wearing it at work i know...............
but i worry if i take it off - hopefully it will be the only time it happens.
