Evening Entertainment

What are you all having for your entertainment?? I was thinking live band then a Disco! But so hard trying to find a live band, and there all so expensive!
I am getting married mid week so hoping for a good rate! Any ideas!

try local college/uni performing arts depts they might be able to help?

We had a disco and also hired 3 casino tables (blackjack & roulette). You could try gumtree.com. Sometimes musicians and bands advertise on there.

We're just having a disco- we love live music but it's not as versatile for the different ages as a disco and I don't think it would get many of our guests dancing. we've booked a dj who has asked us to send him a 'wishlist' of 30 songs and a general idea of genre for the rest, hoping this way we can cater for the different generations!xxx

we're having my 'brother in law to be' play with his band for the first bit of the evening (free) and then a dj after (free!). OH's Dad used to dj or something and he still has quite a few friends that do it so he's going to call in a favour.

We're so lucky with both being free otherwise I would be having to sacrifice my vodka luge ice scuplture which i am desperate to have (although may still have to sacrifice this for something more essential, we will see!)

We had a live band karaoke and it was sooooooo much fun! They also performed our first dance live which was lovely, and all our guests had a wicked time whether they were singing or just laughing along ;)

There are lots of bands around the country that do it and they weren't too expensive either (I think around £700). If you're not up for karaoke though there are lots of regular live bands around - maybe try going to some local gigs/open mic nights to check out the talent in your area and do some networking?

Were having a band and a disco. The band we are trying to get were at the recent wedding we went to and they were great. They only paid £250 for them for the whole night but i think thats coz they know them nd they just play in their local pub x x x x x
