I wasn't too fussed about decorating the church because I think they are beautiful as they are! But I am ordering 24 candles to light in the windows as I think this will be nice and christmassy. My chief bridesmaid is talking about getting ribbons for the end of the pews....I'm just trying not to spend anymore as I figured out our finances and have everything sorted so we can pay the wedding off by December so not too fussed on church ribbons tbh lol.....what do you guys think? xxx

well i didnt get married in a church but we had our flowers in the room where we had the ceremony. the ones for our top table went on the table at the front and it gave that extra touch coz it matched the dresses and bouquets. i think in a church it's not necessary to have too many decorations as like you said they're beatuiful anyway. i like the idea of the candles i think that's lovely.

it's totally up to u if you want anything else. can you do a diy thing to make it cheaper? xx

i'm not having much decoration in the church mainly to keep costs down. Maybe a few flowers but mainly ribbons at the end of the pews. I'm also getting in three candles in that'll be nicely decorated in memory of my sister and two brothers but that's about it church wise. I think we'll spend more on the reception venue... when we find one haha! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Haha yeah I have asked the vicar in advance about candles coz I wasn't sure with health and safety today lol, he suggested 24 and said to put them in the windows so i guess that's the safest option, with all the hairspray in the room we don't want to be sat too close to them!!

Yeah I think I'll say to her if she thinks it'll look nice it can be her job, she loves getting creative so I'm sure she wouldn't mind. Maybe just some ribbons on the end of the pews will be enough xxx

we're having organza bows with a sunflower tucked in the middle of each bow on the end of pews, alternate midnight blue and gold. didn't want flowers at end of each pew as my Mum wants to do them and don't want her getting stressed out by doing too much, then maybe a pedestal of flowers near front and mum is on about making an arch of flowers to go over the front door of church for when we have pictures. personally i think that sounds like a big job but if she wants to do it i do quite like the idea.

i went to my friends wedding on sat and they had no decorations whatsoever in the church and i have to say the only reason i noticed was because i was looking out for things with planning a wedding myself, i don't think anyone else noticed, so it probably isn't worth going to too much effort.

awww the arch sounds lovely although I agree a big job. I love mums they always seem to enjoy taking on a big challenge to help out their little babys haha bless them!

I can't wait. Although I'm taking things slow with planning. I'm booking the venue next weekend and then i shall start looking at reception venus this sunday! XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

We just gave £20 towards flowers provided by the church, as they said any flowers you buy for the church have to be left in, you cant just take them after the ceremony!!
Also the flowers they had were just neutral colours because they said if there was another wedding straight after they would be no time to get your flowers out and put something in for the next wedding!
Our church was small and the oldest one around here so were beautiful and didnt need flowers really! The vicar had candels out as well

I've not given it much thought lol. I'm hoping when it actually gets down to the nitty gritty that my Aunt's skills will come into play, she was a teen mum, went to Cheltenham Ladies College and had to support herself and her son - she is always on the hunt for a bargain but doesn't do cheap/tacky looking stuff, she just loves to get a good deal!

I think her frugalness will come in VERY handy when I need to shop around or need to talk someone into giving me a better deal
