Hi there,
I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I was on here a few years ago and remember it was such a great support.
My husband deploys on Friday but we've just said our goodbyes as he left to go back down to work this morning.
We live in Scotland, oh is based in Colchester, and comes home at the weekends so I always feel kind of out of it as I'm not on/anywhere near a base. Glad to have found somewhere like this with lots of like-minded people.

Hey Carrie and welcome back to wags :)
My OH is also based in Colchester, and deploys next week. I used to live in Edinburgh until we got married last year, so we now live in MQ's here in Colly. So is your OH in the para's then hun?
Must have been hard to say your goodbyes already, but knowing he doesnt go till Friday, big hugs hun, is this your first deployment for the both of you?
This is our first, so not really sure what to expect, all a bit unknown really, but this site is such a great support for when your man is away, and if your ever feeling down come on here and im sure the girls can cheer ya up :)
there are quite a few girls with their men already deployed or about to, so we can all be on the countdown together :D

This is our 2nd deployment, dreading it but have to keep chin up. It's just a bit like shell shock when they first go I think. Wasn't right all day at work.

Yeah myn to :rolleyes: but it is a great achievement to get through that training and call themselves a para :D hehe. I dont think he is ever out of his para reg top and he aint even been in that long, but yeah my OH is hugely proud lol x x x x x x

hahaha - soooo true!!! My OH is ex-1Para, left around 5 years ago but still very much Airborne! We joined the PRA a few months ago... fab experience to meet everyone, some of them Arnhem Vets. It also brought home that being a Para is definitely something that stays with them for life! :)

Yep same as mine, im going to be keeping one of his reg t-shirts though when he goes to afghan, so that I can wear it and feel close to him while he is away. I told him I didnt want him to wash one of them so it still smelt like him, and he was like 'so can I go running in it and get it all smelly and sweaty then?' haha, not that smelly!!!
Not gonna lie, im wearing his para hoody today hahaha who am i to talk! i just miss him :-( lol xx
Haha!:) Sounds like they're all the same! Oh lives in his reg T-shirts. Always wears vests to the gym to get the tattoo out aswell! haha!
The PRA sounds good Manuiti, oh loved it when they got to go to Arnhem and tour the place. Would have been amazing for you to meet the vets!
This is funny, I'm wearing an old Tshirt of his just now too and I've got the one he wore on Sunday all folded under his pillow so it still smells of him (I got the sweaty joke from him too)!
This post has made me giggle too... I'm new to posting on here and feeling a bit weird today after OH deployed Saturday, so this has cheered me up! The tee-shirt under my pillow has to be hidden from everyone, because it's all faded and a bit gross-looking, but I don't care because it smells of him and the maroon tees are pretty much all he wears :D
Welcome to WAGS hun my OH is deployed at the moment and I have to say I have his tshirts hidden with his smell on and still havent be able to move his shoes from the bedroom floor yet even though they are in the way!!!
