Im just having a look at some photographers and iv found one who is in Doncaster, im just really confused how do i know what is the right price of if the photographer is right? the one i found is £750 and that coveres Full package from brides home to end of reception formalities, prints as ‘A’ plus 30 additional 8 x 6 prints, Attendance at Wedding, before and after ceremony, and following on to reception venue. taking sufficient pictures to supply 5 off 8” x 10” and 15 off 8” x 6” colour prints, or 30 off 8 x 6 prints

Her photos on her website look pretty shabby for that price, they are just normal colour photos, she doesnt edit them or anything :/

Is that about the right price for a photographer or is that cheap or expensive? the photographer and cake are the only things holding us back at moment :(

photographers prices do seem to vary and i don't think it necessarily correlates with how good they are either!!
were quite lucky that my best friends little brother is currently at uni doing photography and he is really good, doing the photos and editing them for £250 and we will be getting them printed ourselves.
we did find someone that would do them, edit them and album for £500 though and that was the minimum package on offer. that was also the cheapest photographer we looked at, the rest were min of £1000 for the basic package going upwards.
i think you're prob best meeting them and see what vibe you get from them and seeing their portfolio in person.

we're paying £1350 for our photographer, however that was his most expensive package. that pays for a large leather album with 100 edited photos, and pays for his time all day. we could have paid £750 for a smaller album and smaller amount of photos.

tbh if your not impressed with her photos online, then you wont like them in real life-photographers put their best work on their website. price wise, the sky seems to be the limit, we saw photographers who cost up to £3000 but their work looked amazing and you got all sorts of extra couple photoshoots as well as wedding day.

are the wedding photos very important to you? if yes then i would say shop around and look at quality and quantity and reputation, but it will cost you more. if the photos are not so important to you, you can find some photographers who you literally pay to take photos and at the end they just give the best ones to you on a cd and you have to print and frame them yourself, but this tends to be much cheaper xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Photographers are so expensive. We've managed to book our photographer for £350- this is her time for the day plus 30 hardcopy prints (we're paying an exta £100 for a guestbook too) but if we wanted all the photographs she took it would be an extra £350 on top of the £450 we've already paid. And I'm from quite a cheap area!!!! I personally think the photographs are more important than the transport as you have the photographs for life, we actually haven't booked cars it's the only thing I've completely compromised on. Personal opinion tho I guess :) x

We are paying £1250 for our photographer, his cheapest package was £975. I dont mind paying that for them, everything else costs so much and at least photos are a reminder forever :)
