View Full Version : Colour Theme To Go With Uniform?
Im trying to think of a colour that will go well with my OHs uniform?
The church is very red so was thinking not red! OH will be in his No1's so really dark Navy with red sash and red stripe down the trousers..
Wedding is in May (i know im running out of time :) ) so was thinking of summer colours...
Maybe cornflower Blue, Icy Blue, Light Silver, Green???
What do you think?

if his uniform is navy I would probably suggest silver or Navy blue dresses with a touch of silver or white sash I typed it into google and it looks lush xx

I had the same problem choosing! We're getting married in April. I always knew I didnt want red bridesmaids, its just not my colour at all!
I then thought of navy, but decided that it wasnt very spring like at all, would be to dark with all the guard of honour being in navy too.
So... finally I settled on a yellowy-champagne colour. Not sure it sounds as good as it looks though! Goes fab with navy, and also picks out the little yellow bits on oh's uniform. I love it!

I typed Navy blue and silver weddings and selected the image tab this was the theme I wanted but my OH is now wearing his mess uniform so my theme is now red and black with a touch of silver xx
Im going for red-purely because OH has an obsession with me when i wear red lipstick and my bridesmaids will all look good in red-plus itll match the rm blues nicely i think!
I originally wanted ice blue but think itll be too cold for a christmas wedding!! I also want-unless it really happens-a snow machine eeeek love the snow!!

we chose midnight blue for the bridesmaids to go with OH's uniform, and my dress is gold so that's basically our colour theme. The rest of the groomsmen are wearing navy suits, gold wasitcoats and midnight blue ties. A bit wintery I know but we'd already decided on all this when we thought it was going to be october but then we had to bring it forward to august! but the colours do look lush together. red is the only other colour in his uniform that would work but that is def out for me with having red hair and i didn't want to introduce too many different colours. why couldn't their uniforms just be black eh?! they pretty much look black anyway!

Hey, we have gone for ocean blue which is a bit like teal, I was gonna have midnight blue but when I ordered the dresses I had another look at the swatch and thought the ocean blue would look nicer with my dress than navy (I'm not wearing white I'm wearing a champagne kind of colour) so it was a compromise between my dress and OHs blues :)
So our theme is blue, white and silver- we're getting married next month so having a snowflake kind of theme. I just hope the real snow doesn't interfere :( xxx

Ive got to pick next weekend, so silver or blue it is..just which one..although the yellowy-champagne colour sounds good too! hmmm! :rolleyes:
Re church wedding (catholic) Dont suppose anyone had to get letters of freedom from every parish you have lived in since the age of 16?! :confused:

Girls im loving the snowflake idea :) But i agree sounds like blues your safest bet hun, but silver would be nice too.
My oh doesn't want to wear his uniform for our wedding, im slightly gutted but means i can play around with color themes and have whatever i like :) Already have an idea in my head hehe.

Talking about ideas in head OMG mines full!! haha Ive decided though that for the wedding i want everything AS I PICTURE IT no more no less! Found a lovely dress whilst doing a little online snooping hehe weddings not even until 2012 but i dont think i want to wait another year to plan/think of ideas! I think as girls we can't help it lol xxx

So am I lol I love floating candles and its not expensive we're having red and white floating candles with rose petals most of the deorations will be more candles than flowers xx
