Hi ladies! Nice to come across a forum like this.
So I'm very new to this, im not from a forces background but my boyfriend of 4 years who is, is about to enter Cranwell in Jan for his first lot of training!
I know his date for leave and having met at uni, we're quite used to time apart. One I thing I don't know is how much contact you have with them while not on leave and also what happens if I am to visit there?!
Have seen the strict dress codes for everything although it seems quite hard to find the required dresses! Anyone know of some decent shops and online places where I can start my search for the first ball?
Thanks in advance for any advice!!
:) xx

Hey hun
Welcome to the site! :)
Dress-wise I'm a bit fan of Jane Norman and Debenhams (& their personal shoppers for when I can't be bothered lol)

Hiya and welcome!!
I'm not sure about contact while he's training as my hubby was already in when we met, but I'm assuming it will be a bit restricted. But then you'll have us to keep you company so it's all good!!

:) xxhi ya welcome to wags. i didnt have anything to do with the forces before meeting my husband so kinda know how you feel a bit. however he was already in the army when i met him.
i think the contact varies, i know during training the contact seems to be quite limited. it also varies from place to place. i've not been with hubbi through training so i cant really help but i'm sure one of the other girls can.
i find shops like Debenhams quite good for dresses, this year i got mine from River Island. Its just a maxi dress coz our dress code this year is ankle length and i'm pregnant so went for that option. last year i got my dress from a local gown shop- paid through the teeth but i had trouble finding anything else x
hiya hun and welcome to wags! Hope you enjoy the site, all the girls are lovely. Any problems just giv me or oneof the other moderators a shout and we'll try to help xxxx
As for dresses, I have managed to escape all formal dos so far so not the best one to give advice, altough I'm sure I wont be so lucky forever!!! I hate that kind of thing! xxx
Hey ladies!
Thank you so much for you lovely replies!! So nice to know this forum exists for those times when you need to chat to those who know!
So Sunday he goes into Cranwell...not sure the next time i'll see him but likely to not be for 6 weeks ! I suppose im one of the luckier ones tho.
Think i found a dress for the first ball! Here's hoping no one else has got the same!
Anyone here a RAF Regiment Wag?...thats where hes headed after cranwell so was wondering if anyone lived at/near Honington?
