View Full Version : Christmas Shopping..

Going to go Christmas shopping this weekend! Hopefully this will go better than last year..

I have NO idea what to get people though.. I'm useless when it comes to buying presents. Sam, my other half, is terrible to buy presents for! He's the hardest of them all. He's the kinda guy who is in denial about being hard to buy for.. This sound familar to anyone else? Haha.

Last year I spent like, £400 between 6 people.. That has to be my limit this year though for everyone! Which makes it harder to know what to get people..

I'm sort of hoping a miracle of ideas will come into my head by 0900 tomorrow..
Urgh!

i know hun its a flippin m=nightmare. my sister is like a big kid herself and buys loads of presents for ppl and then expects twice as many back. for me its for the kids. i like a present but im not bothered tbh. im finding it hard this year. so far i have bought my OH an ereader as he is at uni so it would be ideal for him, plus one of those snuggle blankets. for my son i have got him a personilised arsenal kit and my daughter i have got her a convertable barbie car for her dolls. still need to get more presents and bits, but im off work next weekend so will get more then!

Sounds like an awesome set of presents there! I bet they'll love them! :)
What do you get a guy though who is "easy to buy for" but really, is super fussy? Urgh.. Men eh? Haha

And yeh, it is all about the kids, or loved ones in my case.. I'm not fussed about me getting anything but so long as they've got stuff I'm happy :)

Hopefully you'll get your's done when you next get a chance. Not got a lot of time for mine cos Sam's home next weekend and then the weekend after we're going to his, and then weekend after that we're off to Wales to go back home (well, for me to go back to my "home", which is my Nana's)..
No pressure like haha.

Ah well, these things will all happen smoothly I hope.

I've done most of my xmas shopping now i think...still a few bits but nearly there.

We're the same, xmas is all about the kids so not spending a huge amount on each other.

My eldest has got a new Ipod, speaker dock, dvds, wii game, Cds, clothes etc

and my little one has a walker, shape sorter, books, lots of toys actually!, a car seat (she'll be so excited with that :D), ball pit and balls clothes and lots of little pressies

Actually now i come to think of it, i have bought them loads of bits...but i do start early and im a very good bargain hunter lol xxx

yeah no pressure at all then! lol

its so hard to shop for men, its like my sister's OH. he practically downloads everything, has most things a man needs and is quite fussy too, so its damn hard. even if u buy them smellies its not always one they like and also i find those boring, like to be abit different. maybe type in presents for men on google and see what wacky ideas it comes up with?! lol

this IS my man :p !!! Im getting him a sat-nav which is a big pressie, but this is the first occasion since we have been together that i have actually had money to spend (thanks to being a student for so long!) so i want to get him a few other bits and pieces to really treat him for a change... but i have no idea at all!!

as for the rest of my family, they are just as bloody hopeless! the only thing ive successfully got so far is a rear view mirror for my dad for his mountain bike, so he can 'see whats going on behind him' while he cycles.... hmmmmmm.

I have to say, buying for my OH is really hard too! He doesn't help, because when I ask him what he would like he just replies ' I don't know babe'

I have so many people to buy for and so far I have only sorted 2 presents! I hate leaving things to the last minute as well! Time to get organised!

hmmmm well oh has sorted his parents and his sis and her husband, so now i need to sort his bro and fiance, my parents and my sis....

im thinking of buying my parents a cookoo clock - they lugged one back from their holiday in holland a couple of years ago but then broke it. it was a horrible clock but they loved it so feel i should maybe get them a new one.

my sis i have no idea, shes recently moved into a new flat so maybe something for that...

his bro and his fiance maybe something for their house too? they've been renovating for ages but it seems a bit dull buying them a clock or picture or something

argh!! xxxxxxxx

Online is definitely the way to go, I've done it the last couple of years coz I hate shopping and crowds. It makes things so much easier!!!

Emzy - OMG, he's only had that one 5 mins! I thought the whole point of the latest cars was to get reliable 'parent' type cars so you wont have to bother for a while?! Does he actually test these cars before he buys them lol. At least this is a newer car though, surely he can just get it fixed? x

i know its a joke. the amount of money we've wasted on cars!!! i sold my fav car ever so he could have this car. :( it had a problem where the radiator pipe came off and he broke down. the RAC man fixed it and filled it up with water. because of the weather when ben was on exercise the water in it froze so now it wont start. so it's had to be taken to the garage to defrost. however this may have caused further problems which will cost too much to get fixed. however even if it's fine theres a problem with the fuel system which is gonna cost about £1000 to fix so not worth it. needless to say i'm gutted!!! x

I'm almost finished on the xmas front. I know what you mean though...men are so hard to buy gifts for. Everytime I ask oh what he wants he says nothing and not to waste my money on him. Yet everytime I speak to him hes like ooo i just bought another pressie for you! Im like seriously stop spending so much on me. I'm a single mum so I'm on a pretty tight budget and it makes me feel bad hes spunking so much cash on me.
Oh buys everything he wants so it makes it really tough to know what to get him, i was gna get him the xbox game i knew he wanted but when i spoke to him the other day he was playing it!! I was like damn u bought it! lol.

So far i've bought him The pacific boxset (his bro told me oh had mentioned wanting it). A little duck shooting game for the bath cos he was jealous my son has so many bath toys lmao!, a grow a lap dancer thing (another little joke between us). and i've also bought him a set of dog tags which I had engraved, one has a message from me on it and the other has a message from my son :).

I thought the dogtags were a nice idea because if he has to go on tour or training and cant get to computers/phones he'll have something little he can keep with him to show him that we love him and are waiting for him always.

Good luck with getting all the gifts you need ladies :) x
