Hi ladies!
So i've just joined and i'm still trying to work everything out. My man left for canada for 4 weeks, although it's not for long, its the first time he's been away.
we've been together for nearly 2 years and i'm freaking out. We haven't spoken in 2 days because of cost of texting/calls, so now im playing the waiting game untill he sorts out an international sim and the wireless connection they have.
So anyway, i'm new to this so hopefully i can figure it out soon enough!

Welcome to wags hun! This is a great place. Everyone's really friendly, helpful and supportive. I know you're not the only one with your OH in canada so you'll be able to get some good advice from the others. My man's in Afghan at the moment though I get him back for a few weeks a bit over a week's time.

Welcome to wags hun. My OH is in canada at the min. If he is only there for 4 weeks it would prob be best for him to buy a phone card so he can phone you off phones on camp (unless he off camp??) as cheapest option. $10 for 1000 minutes or $20 for 2500 minutes. Way better than mobile costs and long phone calls.
Wifi works in some places but not in others. The first 3 weeks my OH had wifi he could get at the end of each day to email but the last few weeks he hasn't and I went all last week without hearing anything. Sucks. We want him to save money so didn't want him to use data roaming or text.
Just been told he may be being extended out there as his name not on flight list home :( but will hopefully know for defo by tomorrow. If he is then I will be counting down with you to similar time.

Thank you all so much for your comments. it feels so good to know that i'm not the only one counting down the days.
He's in canada on exercise for 4 weeks at the minute, then in july he'll be going away for 2 months to canada again - sadly this is 3 weeks before we plan on moving in together so i'll be alone in my flat! :( but at least i have this to keep my mind at ease!
