Hello Everyone!!!
This site looks really great, just what I've been looking for :)
My boyfriend is in the RAF and is currently based in London. I see him every weekend and find I miss so much just waiting till then! He's been injured for 18 months and now he's been declared fit. We've been talking and he's told me that at any point from now he might get the call to be sent away for 6 months.
The waiting will be hard enough, but I'm really terrified cos I have no idea of how we are going to get through this or how I would cope without him for so long. He calls me about 4 times a day every day, I'm so used to his support!
I don't know any other WAGS and I'd really like to be able to talk to someone who's i my position cos I find this is really getting me down.
Can anyone help me please?
Lozy. x

Hello Jenlouise,
Thanks for your quick reply!
I'm not married yet and that makes it harder for me cos as my boyfriend said last night in an arguement, I mean nothing as far as the RAF is concerned. We live together, but I'm on my own in the week which I find quite lonely. It would help if I was on a base I think. I would follow him anywhere, but its the places you can't that is the worst. Sorry to hear about trouble finding job. I've just been made redundant which is not helping me at all.
Whats it like in Germany?

Hewwo,
Thanks everyone for all youre welcomes!
Since I joined a couple of days ago I keep flicking the site off and on trying to learn how to navigate it properly. Saw from the posts that everyone was going for chat last night at 8 so I sat waiting looking at the posts for something to happen!!!! Lol. Only by chance did I end up in the right place. Everyones mad! It has really cheered me up cos everyone was so funny and helpful. Spent ages on it last night while I was at work and am at work now too, but it doesnt matter cos theyve made me redundant anyway. Bit stressed was handed official letter today
Just a quick question, is there any etiquette when it comes to joining a thread that other people are posting on? I don't want to butt into peoples conversations if they don't want me to but would like to get to know you all!!!
Thanks Jenlouise for your tip about telling them we're engaged. Only prob is I wont bring that up with my OH yet, cos he is taking me to Paris soon and I'm hoping to become his potential missus then. He's dropped a few hints and I'll be gutted if he doesnt :(
Ow, another question, how often do the chat rooms open? Do you have regular times and nights or do you just check postings?
Thank you everyone
Lozy x x

hi,
I'm kind of new to this forum, registered a while ago but never got round to actually posting! I'm in married quarters at RAF Northolt. Hubby is away in basrah. About the being engaged thing..... You will get given the house keys 2 weeks before wedding but not allowed to move in together until you're married. I was living 200 miles away with a baby for 4 months before we got married.

Hi Lozy

Welcome to Wags! Don't worry about jumping in on any thread you want to post on - the more the merrier really!! Chatroom is only open on wednesday night at 8pm but you'll usually find someone floating around in general chat to talk to.

my boyfriends just joined the RAF. hes not goin away till January. we've never been apart for that long before so im dreading it. it will be a real test to our relationship but we are very close so hopefully we'll be ok. i never even knew these sort of sites existed so its comforting to come across one. nice to know there are people who are in the same situation as i will find myself in soon, to talk to. :)

There will be some ups and some downs but when the downs are round hop on here and we`ll all do our best to help you through it:D when the ups are round enjoy enjoy:D

Hi jen,
I'm a newbie aswell, my boyfriend has just started his training at RAF Cranwell, in view of becoming a Regiment Officer. What does your partner want to do?
Even though I thought It would be the hardest thing trying to cope with him being away It's so nice seeing him happy and doing exactly what he's always wanted to do. He's making some great friends and it's probably the best thing he's done, for himself and for our relationship. I'm not saying that it isn't hard at times but, more often than not it's encouraging knowing that he's happy. If you and your boyfirned are serious, then it will work and makes you realise just how much you do need them. hope thats some help...
