Hate the sick feeling i get in my tummy, b4 he goes away and he is away, anyone else in the same boat?? my pals dont really understand as they not an (armywag) xx:mad::confused

I am currently two months into my OH's first tour (only 13 days until RnR wooop!) and trust me you can do this! You've already taken a great first step by finding this site as all the ladies on here are amazing and will really help you through everything!
Don't worry too much its normal to feel apprehensive before they go off to Afghan and I know I felt exactly the same before my boyfriend went on tour!
This may sound silly but I actually found the build-up worse than the tour has been so far!! You'll find loads of things to keep you occupied while he's away but for now I would recommend trying to talk to your OH as much as possible even if its just a load of rubbish and if he is around before he leaves spend the time doing the things you'll miss while he is away - silly little things like curling up and watching a bad movie together are the things I miss most :)
But most important just remember that you CAN do this and we are always here if you need to chat.

the most obvious thing u can do while Oh is away is keep urself busy plan days out with ur m8's and plan things for rnr and for when he is back and also throw urslef into making the boxes to send out.

i joined this site just over 3 years ago when my new boyfriend (now hubby lol) went on his first tour, i didnt have a clue about the army whatsoever as id only been with him about 2 months before he went. these girls were my rock throughout the whole tour, and they've been great friends ever since :D

so we wanna know a bit more about you - where abouts in the country are you? how old are you? any kiddies? any pets? are you a wife/fiance/girlfriend? what does your man do? we're a right nosey bunch :p
im rachel by the way! im 25, been married 10 months. got a 16 week old son called jacob. im a northern girl, from warrington but im living in bulford, wiltshire now in our 1st quarter. got 2 bunnies, rosie n poppy n at the moment im looking forward to jacobs christening xx

i found the weeks leading up to deployment more stressful then anything else, i get lonely from time to time but with work, a house to run and 3 very naughty cats i keep busy... im a navy wag and also in my 30's its hard when others around you dont really understand the crap/joy having a fella in the forces brings...

Hey hun, stay positive, christmas will be another milestone and it will fly by!
My hubby was away last christmas. He deployed in October and his RnR wasn't til february, it was a slog but I managed it with help from the WAGs on here!:D xx
just wish my friends understood more, im glad the girls on here all understand when i want a good moan, what a great bunch we all are xx

chin up hun. it may have been a bad week but when you go to bed tomorrow that's another week under your belt and another week closer to rnr. that's a good thing. try to focus on your PMA (positive mental attitude) as it'll really makes things much easier. when you're moping, which is normal, you naturally see the negative in everything. with PMA, you just look at things a bit differently. ok, the religious side of christmas will always be on that date. but the getting together, giving presents etc can be on whatever date that you decide on. same goes for valentines day, birthdays etc. so you just gloss over 'official' dates and make up your own. my DH was away this year for valentine's day, my birthday, his birthday, and he will be for xmas, new year and valentine's day again. i haven't bothered to think any further ahead than that. so don't worry, there's always someone on here who's also without their man on these special days and we just slog it out together. i know it's hard but just keep thinking PMA PMA PMA - whenever you think negatively, stop yourself and figure out how you can put a positive spin on it. if nothing else, you may just amuse yourself with just how lateral your thinking can get to make that happen. i know we've had many a giggle on here doing just that.
