View Full Version : Buying for him?
What you ladies getting for your man this year?
I'm a bit stuck really, the mr has been very closed lip about anything he would like so I'm at risk of buying him ultra-boring gifts :P xxxx
Well I've got J some chanel fragrance and deo, clinique moisturiser and clarins shaving foam BUT its his birthday the 3rd dec so I'm really struggling with what to get him! Do I give him them bits for his birthday or xmas?! Sooooo tough!!!x
I've got Jamie: tickets to go and see Jimmy Carr, Battlefield 3, Assassin's Creed and some stocking fillers.
Still to get: Issy Miyake aftershave, Army rugby shirt, some t-shirts, a book, selection box
xx
I'v got Sam modern warfare 3, some shorts he wanted and one of Heston's books (he loves the stuff he makes, cant see him being able to make any of it tho but reckon itl be funny him trying. lol)
Apart from that, theres nothing else I can think of so we're going to go shopping start of next month together and choose stuff for ourselves that we want x
My OH is RUBBISH to buy for! He doesnt care about clothes or perfume or anything, and all the ps3 games he wants he just buys/rents when they first come out anyway!

I'm in the same boat Georgina!
My OH isn't proving very easy to buy for as like yours he doesn't wear aftershave, care about clothes or jewellery and he just purchases anything (usually games) he does want himself!
Its left me a bit confuzzled but as this is our first christmas as a couple I have to make my pressie good...plus I kind of shot-myself-in-the-foot by planning on doing the whole 'Lingerie' thing for his birthday, which although it was on 11/11, still hasn't been celebrated as he's not been reunited with me since tour ended!!! Just 12 days to wait luckily but it'll be way to close to Christmas to do the sexy underwear trick again!
I'm thinking I might get him something crazy like juggling knives or a remote control helicopter but I really don't know!!
xx
I love buying for OH, his birthday is in Dec too so I'll probs buy a bunch of stuff and divide it between the two! I'm getting him a North Face fleece, a Helly Hanson long sleeved top thing, I usually get him a shaving kit (he's a bugger for not replacing his blades often!) And then Soldier of Fortune vouchers because there's kit he wants for next year xx
My oh is away but only met a few days before he went on tour. So just going to send silly bits and bobs i think....
CD, gadget of some kind, few Ann Summers treats, aftershave, photos etc x
I'm a bit torn- the Heston book is on my list too! OH loves making desserts especially so at least I know it'd be worth the investment!
I introduced him to snowboarding too and he's hooked on that so that gives me a few options of bits to get him and he needs a watch since he keeps wrecking his so I could do that too if necessary.
I was going to get him a driving experience day- one of those race-a-ferrari-round-like-a-maniac things, but since what he actually wants to drive is a Bugatti and I haven't found a company that has one of those yet, that is one I'll keep up my sleeve for another time!
REALLY relieved to have a few ideas for him- I normally hate shopping for men- not least 'cause the ones in my life don't really care about pressies and aren't fussed about aftershave or clothes! Pah!
My Oh is also really hard to buy for, as he doesnt want for anything at all! But it was his birthday last week, and I ended up getting him an ipad, which doubles as his xmas pressie as well. Quite a lot of money, so he is very spoilt, but I told him to make the most of it, because once our baby comes in Feb we wont be getting any luxuries like that!

The first couple of Crimbo's I thought OH was really hard to buy for, but the longer we stay together the easier it seems to get! He wants a geeky comic book T shirt, some totes (lol!) a tool box and a book about hawking. I'm going to get him tickets for a gig as he's only ever been to one, plus some bits for his stocking - a bottle of Sailor Jerrys, some smellies and boxers. I thought of getting him a Kindle but we both really love actual books that you can see and hold! So I don't think he'd appreciate it. Plus our bookcase isn't full yet so I need us to buy new books!

Suzie if you have an android you can get a free Kindle app from the marketplace which would give you a trial of it? You could sound him out on it via that? I LOVE books, but I love my kindle app for light reading for journeys and all- you know the sort of books that you wouldn't exactly cherish but might read again? I still buy books but the app has given me another way to enjoy them... might be worth having a sneaky play with that and seeing how he enjoys it?... ;)
my oh is also so hard to buy for!
but on wednesday i get 20% off work, so think i will buy him a ps3 and game from work haha! xxx
