Right ladies... I'm after an uplifting read which has a good story (and that I can get from the library cos I'm too skint for buying books at the moment!). Any ideas? I'm not keen on biographies really, but love most other things.
I am in search of some good books so I can stock up for lee going away. Lot of reading each night I think to pass the time :) x
I don't know if it's a 'good feel' read as such but the last book I read was Adele Parks 'Men I've loved before' I really enjoyed it, very predictable but it was an easy read and I looked forward to the end of the day when I could pick it up :) It's about a married couple, she is a career women with no interest in having children, her husband was aware of this before marrying her but he suddenly changes his mind, so it's her journey thinking back on previous relationships she's had and how they deal with this huge hurdle in their relationship, it's not as heavy as it sounds though, I thought it was funny and relatable :)
I am currently reading 'Never say goodbye' by a Welsh Guard wife, it's interesting....she tells her story and the story of her friends to give an understanding of the life of an army wife, some bits I love and hugely relate to, some bits are tear jerking but there are bits that I find a little irritating but on the whole good and makes me feel proud :) xx
anything by Paulo Coelho. Hes my favourite author by far and I always find everything he writes really inspirational and makes me think about things in a different way. I have nearly every one of his books, and the only reason I cant recommend a particular one is because I find different ones are more suitable depending on my moooood.....
'The Help' by Kathryn Stockett. I haven't seen the film, but I couldn't put the book down!
yes man! it is a really good read and is really uplifting xxx
Thanks for the ideas girls! I haven't read any of them, so I will get to the library and see what I can find.
I've just finished 'Star of the Sea' by Joseph O'Connor. It was brilliant, the only book since Harry Potter to have me reading late into the night! Didn't expect to like it at all, but it was really engaging.
