new member in need of support

hi everyone! I have only joined navy wags today! I'm in search of new friends who acually understand what it's like to have a man in the navy/forces! All my friends are lucky to have their man around 24/7.....whilst I'm struggling with the fact that i'm not going to see my sexy sailor for 2 weeks ..I'm in tears writing this....god only knows what state I'm going to be in when he actually gets posted away at sea for months...i know that i may sound selfish because some of your men are away for months and i apologise in advance ! We haven't been together long at all...only 3 months and met at my best friends wedding.....and i feel that i have known him a lifetime!
I think that I need a new hobby....shopping isn't working anymore....any suggestions to stop me becoming a crying mess!!??

well my hubby is reme and he is in iraq at the min,we have a 7 months old(hubby left wen he was only 4 month)

its really hard babe but these first months will tell you and him weather you are cut out for it

they WILL be away for MONTHS on end but you will just have to try and find something that keeps you happy

the army life is really hard for the wives as we are not in the army and have NOT had years to get used to leavin out family and mates,they HAVE so for them it is not that hard anymore

you have to be with someone who is willin to help you thro and will be there wen you need him

the only thing i can say it treat it think you are on trial to see if you will get on with this life,cos then if you feel like you CANT then you can walk away bein happy you tired

Welcome to wags. I'm Lee, 26 & a Navywag too. I've been with Gav 5yrs, 3 of which he's been in the Navy. I've got our 2 beautiful boys to keep me going although its still hard. I fill the time by putting together parcels to send him, decorating the house ready for him coming home & studing with the OU. Gav's in the Falklands at the moment for 6mths, not back till Xmas. I miss him like mad, its his 1st sea draft since being in. Its tough because communications are limited & I'm used to speaking to him every day.

What does you're boyfriend do in the Navy? Gav's a helicopter engineer based in Yeovilton, Somerset.
