We have a chat night on a weds (Tonight) from 8pm till about 10.30ish and its where we all go to natter and basically sound off we have a great laugh and its does get blue in there...actually VERY BLUE OK...LOL LOL

My bf is RAF too and he is now in Afghanistan. What does your fella do? I guess he is based at Lyneham... which is largely multi-engines??

hiya im emma my oh been in iraq almost 6 weeks finding it really hard, he been away quite a few times but first time while i been with him. having my bad days and so does he, i dont know anyone else with oh away, my friends try to help but they dont know what it feeld like. nice to read this site some helpful stuff. :)

Hey Emma,
Well you've come to the right place if you want to find people to understand you. My o/h went away to Afghan 5 weeks ago, his has seen a lot of active service however this is his first operation since we've been together, and is due back just after Christmas but I won't get to see him until mid-January!! I found it really hard at first because we used to talk so much before he left - every day, several times a day. I still have my tearful and insecure moments and I miss him so much but I am getting better. The girls on here are great when you are having your bad moments - they totally understand and know just what to say to reassure you. I also find that on my stronger days I can find something nice to say to reassure others! My o/h has got much better at calling this week but he has his bad days and dreams too - I'm learning that it is natural.
What does your o/h do??
hiya my o/h is in raf part time he was in coldstream gaurds for 15 years but left, then joined up raf wasnt even a month after joining that he had papers for going to iraq. he is a gunner (not sure if that what proper name for it). 6 weeks tomorrow only another 21 to go!
14 weeks, 5 days to go - ARGH!!! He is actually back in about 12 weeks! He isn't very good at telling me exact dates!!

We've been together about 15 months but it feels like I've known him all my life. I'm smitten!!
hiya my o/h coming home in next couple of days now, not great circumstances been in an accident and broke his leg, but he ok and he going to be home

he in basrah been there 6 weeks 1 day wasnt due back till feb. not good about his leg but like you say at least he will be home

I had a call toady from my OH in afghan - the silly sod managed to electrocute himself at the weekend :eek:

He's alright though - so he wont be making any speedy return home :(
2 weeks tomorrow and another 15 to go!!!!
flying him home tonight (well to a hospital 2 hours drive from me) so will get to see him tomorrow cant wait :)
Steves best det injury was in Basrah, he got through the entire det without any trouble then on the last day he fell over his packed burgen and cracked two ribs, I pi**ed myself when he came home and told me :D
ha ha ha ha pmsl, my hubby is like that in 4 years ive known him hes broken ribs, ankle and hand, all separate things, choked and nearlly died, had a peg of a motorbike go through he knee and god knows what else !! everyone said am i worried about him in iraq, i said only that he might shoot his own bollocks off with his pistol !!!!!!!!!! bloody idiot. If i knew he was so medically rubbish i wouldnt of touched him with a barge pole. wouldnt be without the cretin now though.
