Hi, thanks for the reply.
The house is feeling very quiet!
I am a teacher - so had to spend all day with a room full of 10 year olds after being at the airport dropping of the capt. at 4am! very tired to say the least.
I am in Sedgefield - the other half has gone back to Iraq to finish off the 8 month tour... :( no kids or pets to keep me busy in the house.

Hi!
I totally take my hat off to you........for being brave to enough to choose teaching as a profession!! LOL! Seriously, I was a teaching assistant for a while at Heide School in Fallingbostel and totally loved it. There were moments when I thought what the heck am I doing and some of the time I thought what a great job! (Yes, I am a confused person:confused:) I loved it 99.9% of the time! I had to leave cos we got posted back to Fally - oops I mean Dorset (see told you I was confused!!) If I had been in a position I would of loved to have gone and done teaching, did my first year OU and then had to put it on hold cos I got divorced!!!:o 5 ears, or years even later its still on hold!!! Maybe one day!
My eldest son is in year 6 - is it year 6 or 5 you teach then? My youngest is in year 4. So hubby is in Iraq, don't envy him (or you!!) Glad to hear that the goverment are planning to start withdrawing them whilst our friend Mr Bush is planning to put more in! I think if I expressed my feelings about him I would have to moderate myself and banned myself for foul language!!
Keep smiling honey!!!!

Hi,
Well heard that my capt. has arrived back in Iraq safe and sound to be greated with the news that his CO may have found a replacement for him, so, fingers crossed he may be home earlier than expected!! (not pinning the hopes on it, but I can at least crack a small smile today!)
I teach year 6 for my sins - SAT tests are the chore starting from now... school expecting OFSteD any time so feels a bit like a pressure cooker some days. School trip today though which was fun.
We are planning a trip to Oz when he comes back, so just starting to scan internet for flights... something exciting to look forward too!!:p

That is brill that there may be a chance that the capt may get home earlier! [Happy Dance] for you!!:D
My eldest is year 6. Can't believe my baby is going into senior school later this year. I fine it quite daunting as a mum as I feel this is such an important year to get routine going and making sure he is getting to grips with it all before year 7. He gets loads of homework now so we are trying to set the standard of doing it as he gets it and then its done and he's not worrying about it at the last minute. It seems to be working and has realised that he can enjoy the weekend more for example if he does it all on the Friday after school! Hope it continues!
Australia sound fab - its a place I haven't been too. If you ever get a chance you should visit Africa. I grew up there in Zambia it's true what they say that it's a place that gets under your skin and it never leaves you. I think my hubby and I will go back there when the kids are older and they can choose where they come to live there with us or not!
Good luck with the Ofsted report and the SATS!!
