Hi All,
I'm new here. My hubby has been posted to Afgan today until April 08. I miss him so so much I just keep crying. He's been posted away before so i should be used to this by now but it doesnt seem to get any easier does it? I'm so worried about him. :(
How do you girls cope when your men are away? How do you keep yourselves busy? How often do you hear from them? And what's this Ebluey thing like? Is it as good as they say?
Any advice and support would be great.

Hey chick! Sorry to hear that you are feeling low, but WELCOME TO WAGS! The girls on here are all great and can offer great support and advice! We have a chat on tonight at 8pm - you should pop in and get to know us and vise versa.
I kept busy by spending time with alot of people, and spending as little time alone as possible. Try to get a new hobby, that will be a great way of taking up time. But whenever you are feeling down please come on here and post so we can try and make you feel better!
i heard from matthew when he was away about once a week in the fist few months and then the contact gpt more and more. he would try and email every day but there were 3 weeks when i heard nothing from him.
He didnt tell me about e bluey before he went (or blueys for that matter!) so ive never used it but evryone raves about it!

Thats a great help, well def join in on the chat, which part on web is it? It's gonna be hard not being on my own as we own a house together, least ive got our 2 dogs for company hay.

Sorry to hear you're feeling so down!!!
I have been with my darling hubby for 11 years and have to say I can sometimes become a bit complacent about him going away and then it really hits me. I seem to think "I'll be OK this time cos I have done this umpteen times before". Then the day he goes arrives and its like a slap in the face.
I too keep myself as busy as possible. I write blueys, email frequently (even though he may only pick them up once a week sometimes). I havn't used Eblueys myself but my hubby did to send them to me, but thats cos he does not like writing much.
Its really sad to admit this but everytime hubby goes away I end up going on a massive cleaning purge!!! The whole house gets a thorough clean!!! I know its sad, but its something I find myself doing EVERY time!!! The window cleaner had a right shock looking through the kitchen window with me on my knees washing the floor whilst crying my eyes out when hubby went to Iraq!!!
I'm new on here but have read alot of threads (nosey old so in so am I) and everyone seems really lovely and supportive. So come on here when you feel down, someone will be here to cheer you up!!

My husband is in Afghan at the moment but back soon!!
Ive jsut keep busy with work and doing all the house work and stuff like that. I normally send Lee an e bluey every day which helps as it makes me feel like im in contact with hime more even if i dont hear from him for a few days. I just think for every day he is away its one day closer to him been home.
What does your husband do??

Thanks sweety, you just made me smile, the first time today I think! I thought I would be ok, cause when we started going out he was posted to Northan Ireland for 2 years so I never hardly saw him then, but he's been posted back to Melton for a year and a half and ive got used to him being around if you get what I mean, I really thought id be ok but last night and this morning I was a wreck, I couldnt stop crying and to tell the truth I dont know how he holds it together!

Hi Shell, he's a dog trainer/handler, they search for bombs etc. Hope it does get easier. I can't cope with my heart hearting so much.

Hey hun, hope your feeling a bit better, everyone on here is great and if it wasnt for them I wouldnt have surrvived the last five weeks!!! My husband of five weeks deployed to afgan five weeks ago 2mo and it is so hard- but i genuinlly (scuse the spelling but you know what i mean) believe the hardest part is saying goodbye. This is gonna sound really daft but it helps me so may help you I look at as if we are climbing a mountain and when you get half way you are at the top then on your way back down!! I have made big wall charts with each month on so I can cross of the days, I also have a diary and I find it helps. The first four weeks went really quick for me and this last week has just dragged but we are finally at the end of another week!! Try and keep yourself busy and time will pass. The first two days after martyn had gone I stayed in bed and cried infact the week before he left all I did was cry. My husbands back in march and there is a few of us who are back march april time so we can all count down together!! Dont worry if you have your down days its normal I have my looney moments were I think I am goin mad its what happens!!! Thanks for your reply it's helped me know its just not me going through this. I'm having a really down day today worse than yesterday, its just sunk in that hes gone! It was so hard coming home with him not being there!
He called tonight for a min which was lovely and I managed to keep it together on the phone but he sounds so down like me when he had gone I just burst into tears!

hi hun and welcome to wags. i find eblueys help me feel closer to my hubby who is out in afghanistan. i write him one everyday just telling him what's going off at this end, keeps him up to date with everything. i also write him letters cos they feel more personal. he's at the end of his tour in 13 days so i promise you the end does get here. :)
I know the end will come, it just seems so far away thats all. Gonna send him eblueys everyday and a letter and parcel once a week me thinks with nuts etc in. I just hate not hearing from him, i'm used to seeing him everyday and having texts from him throughout the day.
