Hi there girls. I have just started dating a submariner who is out at sea at the moment for 5 weeks (1 week already gone).
Im after some tips on how you girls handle the time when they are away. Being a submariner contact is pretty much nil.
I have never been in a relationship with a guy in the forces before so this is all new.
Im missing him like crazy already arhg!!! and next year he will be going away for up to 5 months

Welcome to wags im Michelle married to a soldier who is in Afghan at the moment but should be back next week hopefully!!!
It is hard them been away but you just find a way to get through it plus the girls on here are all fab and really supportive and most have had there fella's away before!!!
Look forwards to getting to know you alittle bit better!

No I cant wait he has only been away 4months due to his job at the moment but he will be going out to Canada in Feb but dont know the details yet!!

Im in Birmingham UK. I work in Insurance (boring)!!
Luckily work has been busy so its easy to focus on other things but somedays I struggle. I shouldnt be like this so soon as its a new relationship but we only had two weekends together then he was off.
He is training at the moment so only away for the 5 week and can hopefully contact me next week, but being on a submarine I cant contact him.
He is going to sea next year prob about Feb for 5 - 8 months which is going to be a killer cause we still wont have known each other long but he is worth the wait (i hope).

I'm Lee & engaged to Gavin who's in the Navy. He's a helicopter engineer & has been in the Falklands since June. I'm 26, we've been together 5yrs, engaged for 2 & have 2 boys together. Gav's been in the Navy almost 3yrs now.
Like you, I can't contact Gav when he's at sea apart from emails & letters, I'm not sure how it works on subs but I'm guessing they can't get either unless they surface & dock. The longest I've gone without any contact is 10 days so far. I cope by coming on here, writing endless letters & emails & sending loads of parcels to Gav.

In the beginin wen he was away I was so useless at work & luckily had an understanding boss. If u need a shoulder to cry on or wana kill sum time shoppin I only live in Kidderminster n its short drive in2 Brum.x
Hi,Im a submariners wife if that helps you should be able to e-mail your bloke but lines of contact are only when he e-mails you,try to keep yourself busy and make as many new freinds as you can.
