Hi
I've just found this site and decided to register.
My OH is a marine, currently finishing his LC training. We're just waiting to find out what his drafting next year will be.
Feeling a bit nervous about our relationship at the moment. I love him very much but unsure how i'll cope with him being away. We're been together a year now and he's away more and more and I miss him like mad
I'd be grateful for any advise about surviving the long evenings alone :). I don't know anyone else with a OH in the forces so it's hard to find someone to talk to :(
Hi welcome to the site im new to, my boyf joined the navy in July, we have been together just over 4 years now it is really hard but after time you just learn how to deal with, the girls on here are dead supportive and all know what it is like to have your oh away. Evenings are the worst time, i find myself just trying to keep busy as i was so used to speaking to boyf god knows how many times a day and then it goes down to one if im lucky. Hope to chat soon

Hey hun & welcome to wags. I'm Lee & my OH is in the Navy too, he's been away since June & is back in just under 2wks time. Its his first tour & its been really tough but its almost over now which I'm so happy about.
All the girls on here are really great & we all try to support each other through the good & bad times. Chat is on a Wednesday & Sunday evening at 8pm, usually a good laugh & a chance to get to know everyone. I've made some really amazing friends on here & I wouldn't have got through this without them to turn to.

Hiya hun , welcome to the site :) , My Oh is in the Navy and been away since October and not due back until May next year . I agree with everyone else that coming on here can really pass the evening by. I have tried to keep myself as busy as i can to try and make the time he is away not so long and lonely xx

welcome! sorry agbout super slow reply! I'm lisa and live in London. My other half is in the navy too has been for 15 yrs, weve been together for a year and hes in the Gulf for 6 months at the moment so he'll back 4th April next year.
I have to be honest and say I have never been a massive internet fan but since hes gone and I found this site - with some of the thigs that him and I have gone through, there is no way i would have handled it they way I have without the ladies on here. No one judges, they just give you rheir opinion and support.
Just a shame we've never met each other!!

Sorry for an even later response....Nice to see some more marine OH's on here but we're all wags together. Yup evenins & wkends are awful wen your bloke is away but you do get used to it, not sayin it gets any easier tho. You just need to keep busy, strong & not panic (easier said than done) when you don't here from them for ages or if they suddenly have a blip, you need to be their morale boost. My blokes a corporal in marines (bin in for 10ish yrs) & out in norway for just short of 2 months & hopefully only 6 more sleeps left woohoo but he goes bak out in jan for another month. But can't complain cos hes safe n will be home for xmas n new year unlike a lot of other ladies on here, feel very lucky for that, next year tho it'l be different cos hes got another 6 month tour over my bday, xmas & new year in Afghan, hate that place, scares me lots.
Anyhow everyone on here are fab, keep you sane & give honest opinions and other perspectives, only wish I'd found this site & my new friends on here sooner.x:)

Hi there I am new to the service life to , and have found the evenings very alone to when my partner is away , but I love him so much that I get through it . Me and my partner had a child a year old ,got married and than was posted to Germany for 2 years , I have given up my friends ,my job and the place where I call home, its hard but how hard would it be not having the one you love. please dont feel you the only one I find it really hard to.
I have been with my man for a few months now so this is all new to me, he is in the marines and away alot, I have just discoved this website and think its a great idea. As great as my friends and family are they dont really understand how hard it is and how much I miss him.
Hello and welcome, I have been with my man for 5 months and on thursday he is off for 7 months, i am going to miss him heaps but the girls on here are great! I must admitt I go to bed early to stop me getting sad inthe evenings but weekends are always hard! but we get through it together!
