Hi. I've just discovered this site - what an absolute godsend! I've just moved to Lincoln from Hereford to be with my boyfriend, Matt. He's at RAF Coningsby. We only met last summer, but it just seemed so right. I gave up my job and have let out my flat. I'm not working properly yet - just temping til the right job comes up. I don't know anyone up here yet. I don't really want to become reliant on Matt's friends' WAGs. I need to make my own friends too!! :D

Hi both. Thanks for the welcome. This site is such a good idea. I know I shouldn't mention the ex, but I had to put up with 7 months of Op Telic 3 a few years ago. I could have done with this site back then. All I had were his nightmare family doing my head in. None of my other friends have OHs in the forces and they don't understand what it's like.
My OH is on tour in Iraq at the moment, we've been togther 2 years and this is his second tour there, and like you i only found this site after the tour ad could really have done with it through that one!
How long has he got left there? Has he had rnr already?
Hes got r&r in March, hes trying to get it over the 30th march as thats my birthday... and then back for good in JUne.
It's not too much longer then (til rnr at least!). You're probably already aware that the dates seem to change like the wind though :eek: - so fingers crossed for 30 March!

Yeah not long now. Im coping well, lol im a heartless witch i guess. But im well angry at him at the moment so that makes it a tad easier! :rolleyes:
Thanks again for the lovely welcome. I feel a bit of a fraud though as my OH is only in North Yorkshire at the mo til the end of this week. Hardly the front line! I know he'll be off to afghan soon. Absolutely dreading it. Ross Kemp isn't helping!!!

He's based at Coningsby in Lincolnshire. They're at Leeming in tents this week. They're wrecked by the wind this week though. :D lol
Becuase hes chosen his postings and one of them is my home town and i hate it there, and he didnt consult me about it... just told me and expects me to move there with him after i finish uni if he gets posted there, even though he knows i got out of there as soon as i could.
I'm sure he didn't do it to upset you. There's probably a very good reason for chosing that specific posting. Have you asked him why?
Thing is with him, he always makes decisons and doesnt ask me first or discuss things with me, and thats whats annoying me most. Im a very independent person and hes not used to that. Ive emailed him another long emaill and said that he needs to discuss things with me as he has to realise this is my life to.
I know it's gonna be hard, but try not to put too much pressure on him while he's away. Wait til he gets back so you can discuss things properly, face to face. It'll be so much easier that way. Also, from memory, you don't get very long phone calls so try and keep things light til you can talk at length.
Get what you're saying, I know we'll be ok and he'll apologise and explaine himself etc. But even when hes here he does it. And its stressing me as im meant to be applying for jobs now for when i graduate and i cant until he knows where we're going.
Hes a difficult buggar, and he emailed me craftily while i was at work so when i replied he wasnt online. I know him inside out lol
Re your last sentence - do you not think maybe you're being a bit harsh saying he snuck online when you're at work. It's probably just a coincidence!
Try and keep your chin up chick. Talk properly when he gets back and whatever you do - don't lose your temper. Just keep calm and explain your feelings.
Ok girlies. I'm off now. Gonna make a nice brew and settle down to watch Grand Designs. I love that show. Very inspiring! :D
Na he rang me while i was at work and asked specifiically if i was working and when i said yes he went ok cool, speak to you tomorrow
Dont get me wrong I love him and we're getting married next year, But he is sneeky, if he does somthing he needs to tell me which he hasnt discussed with me then he'll do it when i cant reply stright away,
Like when he signed back on he text it to me while i was at work at a club and couldnt reply then the next day he was on exercise for 2 weeks. And when he told me when he had done the dirty he did it over the phone.
I know when he is avoiding something he knows i need to discuss with him and make the desciion together, i know the boy inside out, I even asked him on the phone at work what was wrong.

Im from the Callow,my dad works on a farm there.Mr C is my bit of rough & comes from Newtonfarm!!! Its such a small world! Here did you used to live & work? I had a flat in Hafod road & worked at the County Hospital.x x x
Hafod Road - nice! Newton Farm isn't QUITE so bad now - it's got it's own police station!!!

Hafod road was lovely but i think i lowered the tone! & the only area of Newton farm that is safe is around the police station! lol I fear for my personal safety when i go up there!!! x x
Actually, that said about the police station - someone in the know told me that they won't store the police cars there - they park them (safely!) down at the station in Gaol Street!!

My OH is in the RAF at Coningsby. In the last 2 months I've left my job and let out my flat so I could move up to Lincs to be with him. It's the best thing I ever did! :D SOOOOOO Happy

Only since August 07! It's all been such a whirlwind. We've got such a connection, like I've never experienced before. That's why giving up my life in Hereford and moving here seemed like the most natural thing in the world to do. Sorry, getting a bit gooey there!:D
