HI, I'm 24 and have a little girl who is 2 with my OH who went to Cyrpus 2 days ago! I'm so glad to have found this site,it's nice to have somewhere to talk other people in the same situation thought i'd get used to him going after him being in Ireland for 2 years but it doesnt get any easier! After 5 weeks together I'm back to sitting at home being lonely! :(
Does anyone know if there are holiday homes in Cyprus so that family can visit?

Hi Hun, I'm Nicola 26 and married to Cal who's currently in Afghan. There should be accommodation for family to stop in when they visit, I know there is in Northern Ireland. When you next speak to your oh ask him to find out ok. If u wanna chat just pm me ok xx

My OH said there are family places you can stay, there are long term ones aswell aparently!

hello im caroline nice to meet you my oh is posted in germany and last year when me and the kids went over to visit him we got to rent the welfare flat for a small fee but when we wanted to go over for the new year we were told that his unit just wanted to keep it for real welfare issues so we couldnt rent it but that is his units flat and everywhere has different rules etc so its well worth getting your oh to enquire about it. good luck.xx
welcome new starters to the site, im Jo and my o/h is posted in cattterick, im not sure about if u can rent holiday apartments in cyprus but with it being such a popular holiday for us brits i bet if ur oh cant find summat a travel agent will b able to help lol

Thanks for all your replies! I know they have holiday homes in Ireland as we went a couple of times! but I've been told that they havnt got much housing in Cyprus so wasnt sure about the holiday houses there!! He's out there for 2 years but will be going in and out of afganistan.
It's so nice to be able to spk to others in the same situation, when he was in Ireland didnt seem as bad because we could get there in an hour and he had lots of travel warrants but they only get one a year out there!
that seems so daft when there close to home plenty warrants the further away the less they get!!!
hi hun and welcome ot wags, glad to see you posting, they should have welfare flat that can be used or rooms in the mess for families should be available, tell him to ask in the welfare office :)
