View Full Version : New to site... hubby away
Hi all
Am new to the site, thanks to people on facebook telling me there forums for us RAF wags. Well been a RAF wife for 3 years now and it has it hard times, just after we got married hubby went to falklands for 4 months, managed although found it hard being in a based away from family in a new town on my own. Well now have a little girl of 8 months and hubby been sent to Iraq, its worse this time, as have no work to keep me busy and for adult company, plus more worrying as its dangerous in Iraq unlike Falklands.
Feel gulity if miss a call from hubby because was out, and know it hurts him when tell him what our little girl done now, as he is missing out on it all.
Does anyone else going through this, any tips on making it easier, find evenings lonely being on my own.
Andrea
hi honey, welcome to the site!! i'm an army wag, my fella's been at it 12 years!! he's out in iraq too. this is his 4 tour in the last 3 years!! i miss him so much. i am quite lucky though as we speak every day unless he is on an op. i have learnt to keep myself busy. i'm away from my family too but i do have work to keep me busy. i sometimes struggle at weekends if they're quiet and i don't have much planned.
are there any mums and tots groups or baby massage groups you could join?
keep coming on here and chatting away.
katie. xx

Thanks for the support, am based at brize norton, I do go to a lot of mother and baby groups which keeps me busy in the mornings, its when you come home and shut the door. He been out in Iraq since Feb and not due back until June so a long time. He was phoning every few days and emails every day at first, but they have changed what he is doing out there now, and havent heard from him in other a week until he phoned today to be cut off after a min, he said they have been having problems with the phone. I know he hasnt picked up his emails either so feel really apart from him now.
hi lovie, my fella has been out there since nov and isn't back till june. this last part is going really slow!! i just want him back now. he will call honey as soon as he can. things have changed at the moment, i'm sure you're reading the news??!!! i always find just writing blueys and making him up parcels helps me. xx i've sent you a private message too hun. xx
Thanks princess, got some dvds copying for him now, makes me feel like am being of some use for him. Always used to send him choc when out in the falklands, but think it would just be melted by the time it go to him. Ohhh your OH is gone much longer, bless you, nov - june is awful, makes me feel awful for feeling so lonely now. Thanks for the PM just getting registered now.
don't worry about sending him choc, i send it every week and he says it's fine. i send him jaffa cakes and sent him an easter egg a couple of weeks ago. i will just ask him again if it's ok when it gets there. xx
